Movie Review: The Good & Bad Of 'Small Soldiers'
Summary: 4 Stars
This was a very clever animated-live action computer animated film (at least for 1998) in which the toys come to life and look real. Once the action starts, it's a very interesting story with fun special-effects, some good, funny dialog and some neat references to past films. Sometimes it's tough to catch them all.
On the bad side, it features typical Hollywood portrayal of a family in that the film has stupid parents. Also, there are the usual anti-military messages and anti- Republican cheap shots. The story has The Commandos (military, which means bad guys, of course) against the Gorgonites (peaceful, different-looking creatures.)
Overall, an entertaining film with a good mix of genres.

"Small soldiers" This is so cool. It's about toys which come alive. And then the soldiers are the bad guy's and the monsters are the good guy's. And then the monsters meet a boy. Then the soldiers try to attack him {boy}. And after that they find out that they put special chips {electronic} to make them alive. Then the people try to stop the soldiers and they do. After that the boy takes the monsters to the forest and lets them free. Then the end. What type of movie is this? action,adventure, and comedy.

It is a great movie for you and youre kids! It is action with cool (bad)soldiers and sweet (good)monsters! The voise of Tommy Lee Jones is just perfekt for the role of the hard and cold officer Chip Hasard! The movie takes place in a boys home! He has (accidently) gotten the toys, that have one little problem! They are not just toys! They are warmachines! And a war abrupts in the kids house! And the soldiers have only one objectiv! Destroy all monsters!
Movie Review: Small Soldiers Rocks

This is a terrific fun film that the whole family enjoyed. Our six children ranged in age from about 8-adult the first time we saw it and everyone laughed and tensed and had a great family night with popcorn and conversation afterwards. The robotic animation of the toy characters was superb and the concept believable to the extent that everyone was able to get lost in the fantasy for 1 1/2 hours of good fun.Movie Review: Nice movie

If you liked the movies "Critters" or "Gremlins", you'll like this movie too. Except in this movie, you throw in more advanced special effects in computer animation and have two opposing types of toy soldiers.
