Movie Review: yet another packaging complaint
Summary: 2 Stars

I enjoy Sliders, particularly the earlier episodes when it tended to be more light-hearted, but this packaging has to rank among the worst in DVD history. Besides it being a bit tricky to reinsert the discs into the slots in the foam, the material can scratch the discs, as well as coating them with dust that can cause playback problems.
If I'd known that in advance, I wouldn't have bought Seasons 1 & 2. I won't be buying Season 3 (if it ever comes out) unless the problem is fixed ... but I would actually consider buying a replacement for Seasons 1 & 2 if it were repackaged.
The reason I only gave it two stars was sentirely due to the packaging. Unfair to a show that was so entertaining and occasionally thought-provoking. Well, what can you expect for a series that was so badly treated when it was on the air?

Movie Review: Science Fiction Rocks!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been searching High & Low for this series! I'm not going to waste another minute! I'll pay any price! I had the opportunity to tape the pilot and the first few shows when they were reruns. But they stopped showing it or I'm just not home in time to watch. Sliders was always my ALL-TIME favorite mini-series. I was heartbroken when they took it off the air on the regular station. The only problem with VHS though, if your VCR breaks, you can't watch any more movies. Well, I do have a DVD player. Out with the old and in with the new high-tech stuff. I highly recommend this series! Along with the other Sci-Fi channel flicks!! I'm not mocking any fans. I just know what I like.

Movie Review: Season 3 on DVD????
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a very hardcore fan of this show despite everyone saying that past season 3 isn't worth watching. I still believe season 3 is still worth seeing and I absolutely love it. I believe after season 4 - that's what you want to avoid, but season 3 still has some good episodes even though the Professor is lost. The episodes leading up to his demise by Rickman and slightly thereafter are still really good. So this is what I'm wondering - is there any chance that season 3 will come to DVD?? I've checked lots of forums and whatnot and can't find any specific date or even a mention when it may come out. All I have to say is that I hope it does!!!!

Movie Review: Bad, Cheap Sci-Fi with a "Black Helper" thrown in..
Summary: 1 Stars

What starts off as a good idea for a show quickly degenerated into a silly waste of time due to a low budget, unimaginative scripts and mediocre actors.

The main plot involves a young scientist who discovers a means to travel to other dimensions and then manages to get lost in one of them along with his "girl friend" and a fellow scientist (played by John Ryes Davies).

Of course, due to a miniscule budget, none of the other worlds are terribly interesting. I kept asking myself "why no world with no land masses or still in a molten state, or any world that would be instantly fatal?" That was never explained.

What's worse is the inclusion of the "Black Helper" - the stock minority character thrown in for comic relief/plot exposition purposes. The general rule for them is followed closely here: if there are a bunch of scientists trapped on an island, the black helper will be the janitor or some other no-nothing. In Sliders, the black helper is a singer (sweeps up or sings) who gets accidentally swept up in a slide and "Lordy-Lordy, whats we gonna dos?" is his response to most situations.

Watching old Doctor Who episodes would be a better use of your time than looking at this show.
