Movie Review: Wonderfully spooky! The Tim Burton way!
Summary: 4 Stars
This a great time of year to bring out this DVD! I only have standard dvd and not Blu-Ray yet but still looks good. The storytelling is great fun and the 'Dark" spooky skies and atmosphere Burton creates is not to be missed. Danny Elfman's music is a real treat and will scare you to death! The movie runs a little out of steam a little toward the end! That's why not five stars--but still highy recommended!Movie Review: Great Movie, poor Blu ray transfer

This is easily my favorite Tim Burton movie but I must admit that the Blu ray transfer looks horrible. The faces are so grainy it makes it tough to watch. I put my regular DVD of this movie into my sony Blu ray and had it up coverted and it looked better than the Blu ray. Back to the drawing board guys !Movie Review: Heads will roll

This is a great movie, and it doesn't dissapoint on blu ray. Tim Burton's cinematography is superb as usual, and Depp and Ricci do excellent jobs, as do the entire cast. I recently purchased the blu ray edition of this movie. I already owned this movie on DVD and the upgrade was worth the money. I always look for the fine details in a blu ray, and I was not let down. Excellent movie very well done by Tim Burton, Johnny Dep and the other actors were also excellent. The review is for the quality of the transfer onto blu ray. If you buy this movie be ready to see alot of grain. I was dissapointed that the studios did not do a better job of cleaning up the transfer of this movie to high def. The sound is excellent as for the picture you will be disapointed if your looking for high def sharpness you will be disapointed also. This movie had some scenes of good cinematography that just had too much grain. I must say I thought I was watching an upscaled dvd of the movie. Shame on the studios to release this movie in this condition. Thats the only reason this movie was given 3 stars. Hopefully the studio will do a better rerelease of the movie with a cleaned up transfer. This movie did not deserve to be released in this condition. If you have this movie on dvd just wait until a better version is released onto blu ray.
