Movie Reviews of Six Pack

Movie Review: Kenny, oh Kenny
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm obviously not alone in thinking that Kenny Rogers was one of the greatest character actors of our time. Everything he did was pure gold. He can sing a little too. I run into people each day that tell me they wish they could go back and live in the 80s. I always tell them that my solution to time travel is about 4 months away, but they can capture everything great about the decade by picking up anything with Kenny Rogers. It is a lot to say one man summed up a decade, but KRog did that. One listen to Islands in the Stream by Kenny and that girl with big thingies just leaves you speechless. It's how a song should be performed. They are saying they are islands in a stream, that's all they are. Only Fish from Barney Miller said so much by saying so little and he's dead I think.

Well, I know I can't do it justice(that's saying a great deal because I'm brilliant), but I'll try to sum up the sheer mass of six pack. You know how people love NASCAR all around the world now? In 1982, most people weren't aware that there was such as thing as driving in circles for hours to amuse simple minded hicks. Six pack let everyone in on the secret throught the power of pint sized Kurt Bushes and Danica Patricks. Tony Stewart would be selling appliances on street corners if it weren't for Kenny Rogers selling a country on auto racing. You know what, Enya has gotten better looking over the years, I'd probably think about doing her now. Back to Kenny, the only thing I would change about this movie would be to have him sing his lines because america, heck, the world, loves Kenny singing a tune. Well, in the end the kids win the Coke 250 by 18 laps because they develop a special fuel made of poop. It is a simple story, but your life will never be the same. Kind of like when you meet me and realize I'm a icon and you're an eskimo's stool.

Movie Review: Stunning, Inspirational, Mesmerizing
Summary: 5 Stars

The review is not necessarily about 'Six Pack', which is what it is, a nice family movie. With the popularity of Nascar at an all time high, it's just a matter of time before Hollywood tries to remake this one, too. The Lord knows there aren't any original ideas coming out of Tinseltown over the past decade.

But anyway, if you want to see the most beautiful woman/actress/starlet/perfect creation ever to grace a movie screen, then buy this movie and watch Diane Lane over and over and over again.

This film (not 'A Little Romance' when she was about 5) made me realize when I was just a little tiny lad that I was going to end up a straight guy. I was in love with her immediately when watching this and she still looks better than any of these hags that get paid twice her salary today.

Oh yeah, not only does she look her absolute best in this feature, where you'll want to watch every scene that she graces in slow motion on your DVD player, but she can act, too. When she has the heart to heart with C Thomas Howell and then he asks her if she can see the sky when it's setting in the North and she's looking west...it's magic. Oh wait, wrong picture....but the scene where Kenny Rogers picks her up when she runs away in the rain is a true tear jerker that will capture your soul and never let go.

Movie Review: Top notch movie for all NASCAR fans.
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are looking for a top-notch, action filled movie about NASCAR, this ain't it! Kenny Rogers stars as Brewster Baker, a onetime Grand National racing star who is on the come back trail. While Kenny Rogers is not the most talented actor, he does exuberate loads of charm in saving his newly acquired "Six Pack" of orphans from a corrupt sheriff, aptly played by Barry Corbin. Dianne Lane and Anthony Michael Hall give great early career performances in this delightful movie. To be fair, Robby Still's character Swifty does swear A LOT! But he is admonished by Brewster for his behavior. Overall a fun movie with a little racing and a great show song, "Love Will Turn You Around" from Kenny Rogers.

This movie is a bit dated but in that respect, it depicts the now mega sport in its earlier days of small dirt tracks and honestly shows where many of todays drivers get their start. Check out the scenes from Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Movie Review: FAVORITE AS A KID!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of the first movies I rented as a kid. Makes me laugh now thinking about that xmas , how the family got a "VCR", it was the coolest thing then. Anyways, my family, all relatives, and friends all went to the races every Saturday night (still do) so this movie was perfect. When I rented it in 82 or 83 or whatever it was, I damn near wore it out by watching it over and over. I bought this flick from Amazon on VHS a few years back, and I have watched it about 20 times since then. Pretty funny for a 32 year old guy like me to do that but this movie is kick ass. It better make it to DVD here soon because it would fill a void in my growing collection. This movie has been at the top of my list for years to add to the collection so Anchor Bay better not screw us on this release!!! Awesome movie!!!!!

Movie Review: heartwarming
Summary: 5 Stars

i absolutely love this movie. always have. it's a genuinely funny, pull at your heartstrings, entertainig movie. i watched this movie so many times when i was younger that i actually remembered the words in some of the scenes!

there is a lot of cursing in the movie but it's not "unnecessary". in other words, it simply drives home the fact that these kids were thrust into adulthood and they have no guidance. the foul language these kids use is something that kenny rogers is actually able to take away from them as he shifts them back into their places in childhood.

if you like this movie, you will probably like 'bustin loose' with richard pryor. in that film, he is a con who is given the choice of jail or driving a ragedy school bus load of orphans across the country.
