Movie Reviews of Sister Act

Movie Review: Fun movie...*possible spoilers*
Summary: 5 Stars

What a classic. I don't really like Goldberg but she was great in this movie. I loved her quirky personality and her no nonsense attitude. Something I noticed in the movie was that when Delores went to the police station in the beginning she tells the detectives that she overheard Vince say to Joey, "say goodnight joey" . But Delores barged in AFTER Vince said it and right when he shot Joey. So I was wondering how she could know that? Other than that, I absolutely loved this movie. The singing nuns were fun and I love how Vince's cronies change in the end and can't shoot her and how Delores and Reverend Mother seemed to have mended their differences. Vince was a snake, though. I hated that he used Delores AND he gave her his wife's fur coat! I don't care that it WAS purple mink. How tacky is that?
Definitely a keeper!

Movie Review: Hilarious-- & There's Awesome Music, Too!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of my favorite movies-- it's SO funny, and there are great songs that I can listen to over and over!
A tacky casino singer witnesses a murder committed by a mob, and the police hide her away in a convent until they can set a trial date. She meets a bunch of nuns that each have their own individual personalities (something that makes this movie so much fun) and is instructed to join the AWFUL nun's choir by the strict Reverend Mother. Then she discovers that she can actually help the choir to be great, and that there is really a lot of talent in that group.
If you haven't seen it, you're missing out! Go and rent it!
Better yet, buy the DVD--that way you can watch the wonderful concert scenes over and over again through the magic of chapter selection--

Movie Review: One of my favorite Movies!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I first saw this movie when I was around 7 years old, and even back then I loved it. I have been watching the movie continuously since then, and it gets better and better every time I watch it. Whoopie Goldberg is hilarious as a Reno lounge singer hiding out from her murderous boyfriend as a nun. Maggie Smith plays the Mother Superior, who is less than happy with Whoopie staying in her convent. Whoopie transforms the dull, blase church into a jumping, flashy hip place to be! She takes over the choir, and turns them into gold. It is impossible not to love this movie. It's got something for everyone.. and I think I can safely say that I learned more about the Catholic Religion from watching this movie than I ever did from sitting in church every Sunday.

Movie Review: My #1 Favorite Movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was 12 years old when Sister Act was released in theaters! I remember when I went to see it! It was the summer of 1992, I went with my aunt, my cousins, and my sister! I sat in that theater simply amazed at this movie! I remember laughing and trying my best to take in every moment of the movie! As soon as the movie was over, we got up from our seats and this lady approached us and said "Wasn't that good?" I had to agree with her - it sure was! Every since then Sister Act has been my #1 favorite movie! I can watch it over and over and never get tired of it! I have actually watched this movie so many times I have it memorized. This movie is well written and directed! Whoopi is fantastic in this movie!

Movie Review: Whoopi: "ARRRGHHH I LOOK LIKE A PENGUIN!!"
Summary: 5 Stars

LOVE Sister Act, a brilliant movie. Clever and funny and so good at chearing you up when you are down! You cannot watch this movie and not smile! Brilliant!

Vegas singer Delores (Whoopi Goldberg) walks in on her boyfriend shooting a man and subsequently must be placed in the witness protection programme. She is put in the last place anybody would ever look for her...a nunery! At first she hates it but eventually makles friends with some of the eccentric nuns and leads them in singing (with her jazzed up hymns).

A great movie, light-hearted and makes you feel good and as always Whoopi is great and funny! One of my favourite movies. Very highly reccomended.
