Movie Review: Hallmark Christmas truce story (loosely based on real event)

This is a sweet story of a small WWII Christmas truce brought about by the courage and good sense of an isolated German woman, played by Linda Hamilton. It's based on a real event, though the details are heavily fictionalized. (Google "Interview of Fritz Vincken" to read more about the actual event.) The film has the characteristic Hallmark style, earnest and not subtle, made with care on a small budget, with attention to details that enrich the drama. A film all should see for retribution among their fellow person, neighbor. Teaches mankind will get along in this world following the respect and family traditions of a woman, i.e.mother. The main character solidified what the season was all about during war in her part of the world. Keeping both sides of the armed forces neutral under her roof and being civilized to one another. I first saw this movie on Christmas Eve, 2007. I liked it, so I ordered a copy from Amazon. I watched the DVD and was shocked to see the entire last scene with the son of one of the GIs and the aged Fritz, giving an acounting of the night, was totally cut out. The scene involved the dog tags that were placed on the tree. It really made the movie. Why is the scene missing from the Amazon version? I first saw this movie last year on tv and recently bought the dvd. This is very loosely based on an actual event that occured during the Germans last big offensive of WWII. I did some research on this event and found that this movie is much more fiction than fact, but reguardless, still captivating and enjoyable. Linda Hamilton is commendable as the mother and Martin Neufeld as the German lieutenant is brilliant.Movie Review: Silent Night

Silent Night is a terrific movie for the entire family. LInda Hamilton doe a great job as a mother in WWII Germany attempting to save her only son from a war should does not believe in. This movie shows the human aspects of the soldiers on both sides of the conflict.
