Movie Reviews of Silent Night

Movie Review: WONDERFUL MOVIE!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a really great movie to watch over the holidays---or even if you're in the mood for a truly uplifting movie. This takes place during WW2 and deals with the difficult problem of war, enemies during war, and how people can overcome their differences (in this case, during wartime) and be human toward one another again. ALL the performances are inspiring, but I must single out Ms Hamilton's for her warmth and her humanity towards the soldiers who invade her home--and change her Christmas Eve. Highly recommended!

Movie Review: Silent Night
Summary: 5 Stars

A must see for everyone young and old. A good look at what can happen during the ravages of war (WWII). One woman and her child take the time to bring both opposing sides together to celebrate Christmas as it should be celebrated. A good movie to see the reactions of enemies drawn together and how they overcome the situation. A movie that you will want to see several times. Linda Hamilton is fabulous as the mother and how she welcomes everyone into her home for the holiday.

Movie Review: Time-less Lesson In Humanity
Summary: 5 Stars

Philosopher-Theologian-Teacher-Author Samuel McMurray Keen states the matter well:

"I believe -- with Henry Wadsworth Longfellow -- that 'if we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each person's life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.' Telling and listening, sharing our life stories, is the most powerful method we have for increasing the quantity of love in the world" (Keen; 1997; p. 127).

Movie Review: The Power of the Christmas Season
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie is powerful in showing how enemies in a war are brought together during Christmas because of the birth of Christ. Some people put their faith in the wrong thing, cause, or person but after being exposed to Truth, are graciously shown how they were slowly absorbed into a deception. It would have been a nice followup at the end of the movie to know where each person ended up years later but must not have been possible.

Movie Review: Very Good Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie hit a lot of bases. It showed how people could come together even when they're normally of opisition of one another. It reminds me of how Christmas time used to be, that feeling and spirit that everyone came together and gave from their heart. Does anyone remember how the Christmas spirit used to be? This movie will bring that feeling back to you, no matter what time of the year you watch it.
