Movie Reviews of Sigur Ros: HeimaMovie Review: For music lovers Summary: 5 Stars
This is not for everyone seeing as this video features an Icelandic band and their tour of their country. The songs are not in english, I have no idea what they are saying. With that in mind, this is a wonderful example of the feeling and passion that is rarely found in todays music. If you love good music, or play an instrument, i would think it beneficial to your overall musical experience to checkout these guys and there passion for their art.
Movie Review: A nice compliment to their music. Summary: 5 Stars
The music is the same but the imagery brings new context to some of the classic songs. There are some interesting interview segments but they are brief and scattered between the venues. This is not one of those documentaries that is essentially a prolonged band interview. This is a visualization of their sound. The main video (Heima) is great but there is also a second DVD with additional live performances which is equally wonderful.
Movie Review: heima, the dreamland of Sigur Ros Summary: 5 Stars
when i listen to sigur ros' music i always dream of icelandic landscapes, montains, valleys, colours. when you play the movie is like watching your inner dreams. A colourfull movie that keeps daily life away with the main character, sigur ros' music, filling your senses. The idea is to show the free and improvised concerts that sigur ros made in Iceland on 2006 tour. a splendid documentary on music and nature.
Movie Review: amazing! Summary: 5 Stars
as a doc filmmaker, judge of numerous doc film festivals, and someone who has spent lot of time in Iceland, both knows the band and tours with many other bands, im fairly critical of these tourfilms... however i have to say that this is one of the best music docs ive seen. we are fooled from watching a band's tourfilm into watching a film more about the place and people of Iceland... beautiful film!
Movie Review: Breathtaking Summary: 5 Stars
This film captures everything beautiful about this band: their personality, their talent, their preformances, their homeland...It's all portrayed beautifully. I've never wanted to visit a place more than I now want to visit iceland.
The imagery is stunning, the preformances leave you staring, in a complete lack of words.
I couldn't recommend this more to anyone who likes this band.
