Movie Reviews of Sigur Ros: HeimaMovie Review: Free Concerts? Only In Iceland. Summary: 5 Stars
Heima is a very unique look at a band that really has captivated the hearts of people across the world.
You'll see sigur ros touring all over Iceland (Heima=Home) putting on free concerts for the wonderful Icelandic people. Along the way, you'll learn a great deal about the culture, and history of this exotic nation.
As of this review, it's the #2 rated document on IMDB.com, and no doubt one of the best films I've ever seen. And not to be left out, the cinematography of the landscape and people in Heima is breathtaking. A blu-ray release would enhance it more. Even if you've never heard of the band, you will absolutely enjoy this.
Movie Review: A spiritual experience Summary: 5 Stars
I may be biased with this review since I love Sigur Ros so much, but I think anyone who sees this film will have a similar experience.
It is a work of art, coupling Sigur Ros' unrivaled music with some beautiful cinematography. It is truly a joy to watch this movie.
I recommend as viewing arrangements a large t.v. with a great sound system turned up very loudly. Anything less just wouldn't do this film justice.
I laughed, I cried, and as the last scene of Untitled 8 finished, I was left sitting in complete silence, unable to move or speak or even think. That is how beautiful this is.
Movie Review: Visually and Audibly stunning. Summary: 5 Stars
Sigur Rós' film of their concerts all over Iceland is quite simply a feast for your eyes and ears. The music is beautiful as it should be, and for a Sigur Rós fan, the film and the second disc with more concert footage are an no-brainer must buy. Even if you're not a big fan of Sigur Rós however, the stunning landscapes of Iceland are unbelievably gorgeous. I was continually taken aback at the beauty of Iceland and coupled with the music of Sigur Rós it could not have been more perfect. One of the best purchases I've ever made.
Movie Review: Aesthetically Pleasing Summary: 5 Stars
This DVD will open your senses. Well, at least of sight and sound, though it will also invoke your sense of touch and smell, maybe even taste. The music is different from what one hears on the radio, that is for certain, but if one's mind is open, one will definitely feel the emotions of the compositions and improvised songs. The scenery is beautiful--it is all of different places in Iceland. And the talent of these people is outstanding. I purchased this DVD as a gift for my sister, who loves Sigur Ros, and she's completely enchanted by it.
Movie Review: Extraordinary feast for the eyes and ears Summary: 5 Stars
The extraordinary, soaring beauty of "Heima" is beyond compare to almost anything I've seen or heard on the screen. The makers of this film have crafted a near-perfect document of sound and vision. Produced with just enough studio and cutting-room floor trickery, "Heima" showcases the Icelandic homeland with a singular reverence for its awesome natural majesty while presenting the musicians as humble subjects of the people for whom they perform. It is a moving, emotional film that I guarantee will transport you to a higher plane.
