Movie Review: A Classic That Will Live Forever
Summary: 5 Stars
Probably the benchmark of the punk rock movie genre is this beautifully lyrical love story of destruction. If you're reading this review, you probably don't need the plot spelled out for you, but for those who need it: Sid was the bassist for the original English punk band, the Sex Pistols, and Nancy was the groupie/girlfriend who sent him spiraling to self-destruction. The film is based on their true romance, and is a heartbreaking and aching portrayal of nihilism and narcissism.
Gary Oldman, back when he was a lean and hungry actor at the top of his craft, puts in a stunning tour de force performance as doomed druggie Sid Vicious, while Courtney Love has a pre-fame bit part as groupie Gretchen (a precursor to her real later life with Kurt Cobain, as detailed in Nick Broomfield's "Kurt and Courtney").

This movie, is deferent paste u would like it or u hate it. Is NO between.. IF u grew up in back late 70s and 80s like I was, I was almost teenager in erily 80s,because back then was only ROCK & ROLL. And punk rocks. So people grew up back and listen to definitely would related to this movie because is all about rock and punk rock just the way was in back in 80s. I loved this movie and when release in movie theater back on the 86 me and my friends in high school went and see it..We all loved it. That's way was back then and we was almost, was all rock and Roll decade baby. I real glad came on DVD..And I have it in my DVD collection.
Never and ever till now since 1986, almost 20 years pass by , NOT any movie came out with this disturbing raw seems and story of rock star.. To me is masterpiece! A
Movie Review: Punk Super Star Sid Viciousis Great !
Summary: 5 Stars
This film got everything you could want.
Gary Oldham is great as super punk star Sid, well Sid was much more handsome, aside from that he does a fantastic job with Sid's character.
Nancy is played by Chloe Webb a very pretty actress who does a great job of imitating Nancy's husky nasal voice but she's really too pretty to play Nancy.
There are lots of scenes that are really hilarious and it does a good job of taking the viewer back to the late 70's and height of punk rock revolution.
This dvd with the other great dvds 'The Filth & Fury' and 'The Great Rock n Roll Sex Swindle ' make a great addition to your Sid Vicious collection !
I recommend this to anyone who wants to see a good, sexy romance with a not so happy ending.
Great classic!
Movie Review: nevermind the bollucks

The Sex Pistols were one of the most influential bands on punk rock. Although they only were around for 18 months they still proved their point. Get pissed and destroy. And the member with probably the most attitude in the band was Sid Vicious. Sid and Nancy's story is one of the most romantic and tragic love story's in existance. Sid and Nancy were truely the Romeo and Juliet of punk. This movie does a great job in showing their struggles for life, love, and respect. The movie was very graphic, which I think helped show their true lives. That rock stars don't always live a rich and lucious live. This movie is one of the best movies I've ever truely seen.Movie Review: one of the best films i've ever seen

alex cox is a genius. chloe webb and gary oldman were absolutely amazing in this film. they dipicted the characters so well, at times i thought i was watching the real sid & nancy. the film is such a great balance of a love story, the story of the sex pistols, and the battle of sid & nancy against heroin. the final scene is beautiful and very euphemistic. it's so difficult to believe that this story is real-not fictional in any way. it's such an amazing plot with a surprise twist ending (that is, if you've never heard the story of sid and nancy). no negative comments--this film is a classic and sure to carry on the saga that is sid & nancy.
