Movie Reviews of Showdown in Little Tokyo

Movie Review: "I just want you to know you have the biggest........"
Summary: 5 Stars

Where do I begin? This movie is so god-awful that I LOVE it. From the blank stares on Dolph Lungrens face to the act of seppuku, action films do not get much more intense than this. The first scene says it all: Dolph, AKA "Kener" swings into a fight club on a rope with the same expressionless face he wears throughout the entire movie, takes on two bad guys and puts everyone under arrest, sort of. Then we meet his sidekick, Brandon Lee, at a restaurant after "Kener" practically destroys it with human bodies that he throws around like rag dolls. Brandon Lee and "Kener" don't like each other at first but upon listening to Kener's tragic story about how his parents were killed Lee joins Kener in a mindless game of revenge because he really "likes him". Well guess what? I like Dolph too, er I mean "Kener". He doesn't need backup, he doesn't even need a partner but we soon find out that he did need one and that's the moral of the story: We all need someone to help kill bad Japanese druglords to avenge the deaths of our loved ones.

Movie Review: You Get What You Pay For
Summary: 5 Stars

I enjoyed this movie very much. I do not go to an action 90's movie
expecting to see Sir Laurence Olivier. Nor do I expect Lundgren to become
the Govenor of California. This movie is fantasy, if you pay your money
and expect Hamlet, you are guilty of a poor investment.

The movie is exactly what I thought it would and should be. Sure there
are disturbing segments, but no more so than an esoteric study such as
"The Hours". Honestly, is the genre and dialog any worse than "Lethal
Weapon"? Are the Asian slurs and stereotypes any different than "Black
Rain"

"You get what you pay for. . . ." and with this movie and the proper
release of reality, cinematic snobery and (yes) good taste, you will get
even more. Try not to enjoy it too much! Just remember not to take it
too seriously. After all, do we really know Luke Skywalker can operate
a futuristic X-wing fighter after quitting the dirt farmer profession?

Movie Review: OUTSTANDINGLY
Summary: 5 Stars

Tia Carrere NEKID, a pretty stoner decapitated by a samurai sword, nude women buried in sushi? Sure sounds like a porno film, don't it? Well, it's not. It's got nudity, kung fu, and Brandon Lee and that's more than what you'd ask out of this film. The Martial Arts scenes are excellent, ranging from a brawl in a bathhouse, to a duel in a street fair. There's also twice as much comedy here as you'd expect, most of it delivered by Brandon ("In between cooking cycles, your'e supposed to baste us."). Dolph Lundgren is also fun to watch, and he sometimes rather inadvertendly contributes to the comedy ("Take this, point it in the direction things are, pull the trigger and they'll fall down.") For nudity, kung fu, and a very good film with Brandon Lee, SHOWDOWN is exceptional. Oh, speaking of Brandon, here's another of his humorous lines ("Kenner, just in case we get killed, I wanted to tell you, you have the biggest
---- Iv'e ever seen.")

Movie Review: Entertaining
Summary: 5 Stars

I have never been a fan of Dolph Lundgren, in fact the only movie i have seen him in that i really enjoyed his performance was Universal Soldier. Anyways Lundgren was a little bit enjoyable in this movie. He seems to always walk around with this "i big bad and no one can take me down" attitude. But he seem to work great with Brandon Lee. Now i Love Brandon Lee huge fan of his and honestly Lee was the reason i got this movie. I loved the way that Lee played the wise-ass cop he pulls that off to good and he gaves so funny moments to the film. i enjoyed this movie and i think that if you are a Lundgren fan or a Brandon Lee fan then you will enjoy this movie. or if you are a fan a action movies, mainly the late '80s early '90s action movies then you would enjoy it as well.
I just wish the dvd had some special features

Movie Review: Non stop action and lot of fun
Summary: 5 Stars

This film is so naive, full of mistakes and too short. I love it!!! Dolph never looked better, and of course Brandon's moves are great as always. The plot is simple: two caps in Little Tokyo figting against japanese mafia and one of them is looking for his personal revenge (Dolph, of course). The greatst thing about this film is that Dolph is the one who is born warrior and live by samurai codes, and Brandon doesn't have a clue about his culture! Martial arts are on the level and there is a lot of funny moments (such as the scene where Brandon told Dolph that he has the biggest d..k he had ever seen on a man!!!). Also, there are many mistakes (tatoos are wipping off, doll in the car instead of man...), but it's doesnt't matter. This film is very cool and you must seen it!
