Movie Reviews of Shiva Rea: Postnatal Yoga

Movie Review: This is the real thing.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have three kids and have used this program (on VHS, so I never had the DVD problem discussed by other reviewers) in the first six weeks after birth every time. I have tried at least six other tapes/DVDs and found them not as effective. Shiva Rea gives very useful cues in an even, down-to-earth vocal style. I found her program to be very effective in regaining flexibility, muscle tone and alignment. I found my further normal yoga practice to have greatly benefited from my having "started over" using this program.

Movie Review: Great stretches
Summary: 5 Stars

Well, my baby is 10 mos. old and I still find myself using this DVD on a daily basis and probably will continue to do so for a long time. I wouldn't look at this DVD as a workout, as much as it is essential daily poses to keep yourself relaxed, flexible, and strong. I absolutely LOVE this DVD. Shiva picks all the right poses to work the pelvic floor, abs, lower back, and esp. hips and shoulders. Wonderful! Thank you Shiva! I would recommend this DVD to ANYone, postnatal or not.

Movie Review: Great PP Workout
Summary: 5 Stars

This was a great follow up for Shiva Rhea's Prenatal Yoga. It's very calming and relaxing. It has some great strengthening poses and some great stretching poses. You won't work up a sweat doing this, but that's not the point. I've really enjoyed it and still do it occasionally even 9 months postpartum, though by now I've also integrated more challenging workouts into my routine. This is a great postpartum workout.

Movie Review: Love it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I used this video after the birth of my first child 5 1/2 years ago. I liked it so much, I kept using it far past the 'postnatal' phase! It was the first video I thought us when I had a new baby last month. When I do it daily, I don't have the backache and 'breastfeeding shoulders' typical of moms caring for newborns. And if I'm already sore, the exercises in this video work like medicine!

Movie Review: Great video!
Summary: 5 Stars

I used Shiva Rea's prenatal yoga video and decided to use this one as well. The postnatal video is calming, and a great way to ease back into yoga. The three phases make easy stopping points when the baby wakes up crying and needs my attention! I also liked that there was a bonus "baby massage" video. My baby loves the massage and stretching as much as I like the yoga!
