Movie Reviews of Shanghai Knights

Movie Review: Plot lacking...definetly not...Humor lacking...another no...
Summary: 5 Stars

All in all, most of these reviewers are DEAD wrong about this movie. Just like most critics, they are too absorbed with having the perfect plot, and don't even just try and relax in the movie, and have a good time. Jackie Chan, as the Shanghai Kid, and Owen Wilson, as Roy O'Bannon, were bloody wicked! The plot was a little runny in some areas, but otherwise, it was hiliarious, and kept me laughing the whole movie through, even though I was tired as hell!

My best advice for anybody when watching movies (works in real life too): JUST RELAX AND LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL! Because, frankly that is what I do while watching movies, and as long as it is enjoyable and humorous, and the plot isn't completley wacked...why critcize it..?

Movie Review: Chan's Best American Movie - Wildly Entertaining Trash
Summary: 5 Stars

The Shanghai Noon series has been Jackie Chan's best US work so far. Sure it's another formulaic sidekick story (but at least it's Owen Wilson and not the nauseatingly annoying Chris Tucker), and anyone who has seen Chan's earlier movies has seen most of these stunts before. But nuts to that. This is a wildly entertaining piece of pure trash, taking great liberties with historical fact in pursuit of action set-pieces and a laugh (which is fine by me).

Chan and Wilson have great on screen chemistry. Aidan Gillen is a wonderfully one-dimensional villain, and the entire supporting cast do their job admirably.

Grab some popcorn and leave your brain and expectations at the door and you'll have a ball.

Movie Review: Great fights sequences
Summary: 5 Stars

Although I thought KNIGHTS was not as good of a story as NOON, nor was KNIGHTS on as grand a scale as NOON, the fight choreography is the best Jackie Chan has done in years. He may lack the speed and ferocity of his earlier Hong Kong movies, but in terms of creativity and use of his surroundings, some of the sequences are on par with stuff he did in Project A, Young Master, etc.

So if you watch Jackie Chan movies mainly for the action like I do, you will probably enjoy this movie. If you care about the story, you might be slightly disappointed, though I still thought Jackie and Owen's banter was pretty funny.

Movie Review: Great!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have seen both, and both are very funny. Shanghai Noon has more action, but Shanghai Knights has all it needs. I personaly like the second better, it has more jokes, that actually make you laugh for a change. They have historical characters in the movie, as the other reviewers have said. They've even made a joke out of Jack the Ripper. I think that this movie is one of the greatest in comedies, so if you are a die-hard action only jackie chan person, I'd say go for Noon, but if you want comedy in it too, go for knights.

Movie Review: 5 stars- for a comedy!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is withoutdoubt the funniest movie ever made, not by jokes or faces, but by the scripts, how owen wilson says his lines so calmly and stupiditly. If you listen to what they say then for sure youll laugh out loud. A good family movie. Great action scences, a girl, a baddie, and a laugh. The story isnt the best but hey its a comedy it doesnt have to be. If you are looking for a movie on a boring afternoon to watch in your local video club, pick this up you wont regret it.
The only sequel ever better than the first.
