Movie Reviews of Shakespeare RetoldMovie Review: The Bard Inspires Only The Best! Summary: 5 Stars
I highly recommend this collection, they were all masterfully done bringing them to how we could see and identify with Shakespeare's works today. The actors truly bring a new life into these classic character. I really find it hard to choose one that I like best. The only downfall is that only four of his plays were done ... I'd love to see more!
Movie Review: All were brilliantly done Summary: 5 Stars
I have to say I loved 3 out of the 4. Midsummer night's dream didn't have the magnificant actors that the others had. Nonetheless, I loved Taming of the Shrew and Macbeth. THose 2 are brilliant. How can you get better than James McAvoy, Richard Armitage, Keely Hawes and Shirley Henderson?you just can't.
Movie Review: Fun Versions Summary: 5 Stars
The intensely noir Macbeth and the jolly romp of Taming of the Shrew are my favorites. I enjoyed Midsummer Nights Dream's exploration of love - new and old. I would say Much Ado About Nothing was not quite as fun as it should have been. This is still going to hold a very special place on my shelf.
Movie Review: Most accessible Shakespeare! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this series, with "Taming of the Shrew" being my absolute favorite. Don't expect iambic pentameter. If you are a purist, you may not like it. If what you love is the timelessness of the stories, and don't mind some adjustments to make them believable in our day, then these are for you.
Movie Review: This version of Shakespeare can be endless retold! Summary: 5 Stars
I haven't stopped raving about these productions since I saw them. I loved Shirley Henderson's Kate! The music was fantastic and just added to the thrill of watching the production of Taming of the Shrew. The other productions in the series were also enjoyable.
