Movie Review: The Very Best

If you have ever read C.S. Lewis by yourself or have read it with a child, you will know the magic this man created. He was an outstanding writer and an outstanding man of faith. I strongly recommend this film as an outstanding example of one small part of this man's life. Anthony Hopkins is excellent in his role of C.S.Lewis. They could not have picked a better person to have played this part.Movie Review: Unsurpassed melodrama!

Fact proves stranger than fiction, as a highbrow English intellectual falls for a straight-talking New Yorker. However, with both Hopkins and Winger, we have two skilled players who bring off this challenging premise. Attenborough vividly evokes the Oxford of the 1950s, and Edward Hardwicke excels as Lewis's loyal brother. Extremely well done, and capped with a touching finish.Movie Review: Fantastic - then and now.

I loved this movie the first time I saw it many years ago. It is just as great now. Anthony Hopkins is so attractive and sexy. This movie provides another look at the amazing depth of his acting ability. The list of friends who want to borrow my copy just gets longer as more of them hear about how great it is. This movie tells the story of CS Lewis and his American love. It's a love story and also a story about discovering yourself. Hopkins and Winger are amazing actors and really made the 2 characters believable and real for me. In the theater, I saw this movie 6 times - so of course I had to own it. Make sure you have tissues nearby, you will need them.
