Movie Review: love, marriage and there after
Summary: 5 Stars
it is a lyrical movie - you are bound to love it. Class A photography - part of the movie is in color and part is in black and white. The shades of grey and the quality of photograpgy remind me of the frame of Bresson - perfect canvases.
The movie is impossible one - when Manolo leaves Dolores - she loses her mind. She is compassionate by nature and has a gift of love and kindness. Helpless clueless men gather around her to feel her compassion. There are lots of side notes about human relationship before and after marriage, infidelity, sex in human loving, sex and marriage. It is very rare that you come across a movie which deals with all these topics so lucidly. Sometimes you feel like reading Sartre.
The movie also deals with sex, sin and church - I particularly enjoyed this portion since we all are so afraid of relating sex with church and consider sex to be sin when it comes in relation to church.
This is not for the kids since they may feel bored. Watch it with a bottle of wine - make sure you finish it in 2 hours - you will love this movie
Summary of Sexo Por Compasion
Dolores is a mature and kind woman whose husband abandons her because he can?t stand her uncanny generosity. Desperate to get her husband back, she devotes her life to works of charity, which results in her "soothing" all the village men ? with remarkable results.
