Movie Reviews of Sex, Lies, and VideotapeMovie Review: What everyone misses Summary: 5 Stars
Yes, I like this movie. I love good dialogue minus sappy.
SPOILER:
There is one scene in the movie, where PG is talking about life in college with JH and laughingly comments on deflowering JH's girl in college. THAT is the key to the film! And I've only known one other person that catches that throwaway line. THAT is why JH is what he is, that is why JH comes back to town and the karma of the movie is JH ends up at the end of the movie with PG's wife, and the sister leaves PG. Who ruined one's life is now ruined by the other.
And I still only carry one key.
Movie Review: Great Movie! Summary: 5 Stars
This is definitely a classic movie. It is wonderful and introduced Steven Sodenburgh, Neil LaBute, James Spader and Andie MacDowell to the world. The story is involves a troubled married couple, a sister who is sleeping with her sister's husband, and a strange man who enters the picture. The man had trouble in love in high school and never got over it. He has grown into a man who masturbates to video interviews with women about sex. He can't have sex with another person. This strange man, played by James Spader, provides a catalyst for all these lives to change.
Movie Review: From Movie Stars to TV Stars Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this movie years ago and forgot about it. I fially found it on Showtime On Demand Saturday May 14th 2005. It is amazing these people went from this sexual film noir to eventually do streamlined tv programs. James Spader now does Boston Legal. Peter Gallagher does the OC. Andie macDowell does lots of tv especially the Hallmark Movie with Rose Odonnell. And the San Giacomo chick has done sitcoms. I find the whole thing amazing!!
Movie Review: a rare victory for honesty between men and women Summary: 5 Stars
Graham's integrity creates an opening for the most touching, simple honesty. Two sisters clearly are astonished to discover a man with whome they can relate on this level. All of the fake male and female role stuff that we were forced into starting in highschool melts away and the emotional realness that emerges moves the plot forward. I wish this kind of thing would happen outside films.
Movie Review: Sharp and tacky Summary: 5 Stars
from the opening scene you just get whirled into the private lives of all four of the main characters in this video. I really enjoyed the whole scenrio and humor in this video. The predictable but powerful ending was the most entertaing part that I have watch over and over again.
