Movie Reviews of Seventh MoonMovie Review: suspenseful Summary: 5 Stars
I have to be totally honest- all the negative review for this film are a bit baffling to me. Seventh Moon is actually a pretty darn cool movie.
It's about a couple who visit China, and eventually they find themselves running for their lives as they must avoid all kinds of demonic creatures.
What absolutely FLOORS me is how incredibly effective the suspense is. It's so good (perhaps because it really takes advantage of the Chinese culture) that I can't help but completely fall in love with the film as a result.
When you see, for example, the couple running through fields while hearing the crickets in the background, there's definitely a very eerie atmosphere taking place. The demonic creatures themselves are just part of the fun- the suspense completely floors me.
This is what makes it so hard to join in with everyone else and hate this movie- the high amounts of noticeable suspense.
Sure, the majority of the storytelling takes place in dark areas (and in some cases, REALLY dark areas to the point you can barely view anything) but it's usually not dark enough that you can't tell what's going on. The storytelling flows pretty nicely too.
Darn this is one creepy movie. I seriously love it to pieces and highly recommend it to fans who love the Grudge in particular. It's almost as scary as that film.
