Movie Reviews of Sesame Street - Sing Along

Movie Review: My son loves this thing
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great classic video. It dates from the mid nineteen-eighties with human characters I remember from when I was a kid, but it holds up wonderfully. It could be appreciated by fans of the classic show. The best clip is probably the one of Madeline Kahn and Grover singing the "Echo song". It also includes Olivia and Linda doing a singing and signing rendition of "Sing", the tolerance anthem "My Name is You", the original "Rubber Duckie" and "Doin' the Pigeon" and finally a fun version of "What's the Name of that Song" as well as some sing along songs with the group at the piano.
The best thing is that my 19 month old enjoys it so much as well. He stands in front of the tv and tries his best to sing with Big Bird and the rest. Very cute.
For parents of small kids who like their videos repeated over and over again, this one is some fun for its nostalgia value and will be enjoyed by the kids as well.

Movie Review: My Daughters First Favorite...
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my daughter when she was 4 months old and I bought it in the hopes that she might enjoy it more then the horrid Baby Einstein Videos. I made a GREAT decision. To this day (she is now 18 months) this is one of her favorite Sesame Street videos (she has almost all of them). She use to make us play it over and over again until we couldn't stand it and we all had "Doin the Pigeon" stuck in our heads and would sing it together. I would recommend any of the Sesame Street videos for your kids. She already knows how to say her ABC's and can count (though not always in order for either) but she is still a step ahead of alot of other kids her age and I have to give credit to these videos.

Movie Review: wholesome fun
Summary: 5 Stars

My 18-month-old son LOVES the VHS version of this video. It's so simple and not contrived, centering around an old-fashioned sing-along rather than some silly plotline, and the music is really very good - a mix of traditional kids songs and Sesame Street classics. My son, who has a very short attention span for tv, does not MOVE for the entire duration of the video, and stares like a child posessed. Bad, perhaps, but it lets me get dinner cooked. And I personally think the '80s aura is a bonus! Everyone looks so young... it makes me feel young, too!

Movie Review: Instant hit with my 19 month old
Summary: 5 Stars

This video was an instant hit with my 19 month old. For the past month or so, he has been watching this video everyday between his evening bath and dinner. My son is usually very active, and its hard to keep him in one place for more than a couple minutes, but the one exception is when he is watching this video.

He first took a liking to the alphabet song and 'old McDonald', both of which we was already familiar with, but then soon enough he was hooked on all the other songs as well.

Movie Review: Wonderful for toddlers who love music
Summary: 5 Stars

My child loves this video! She loves music and loves the songs on this video. We enjoy it as well and have yet to tire of it, after repeated viewings. It is true that it doesn't have as much of the muppets on it as you might expect, and there is no Elmo, but if you grew up with Sesame Street (when Kermit was still a reporter, and there was no Elmo or Zoe), this is a wonderful walk down memory lane that you can enjoy with your kids.
