Movie Review: Fast Results

This video is exactly what I needed to break my excercise slump. After just three weeks of use, (only 2x a week) my jeans which were too snug are now big. I've seen a very noticible difference in the hip and lower abdomen areas and my love handles have begun to shrink. My arms are more toned and my legs are tightening up. After three just three weeks, I've been able to go from my tight size 10's to some of my old size 8 jeans.
I have a very short attention span when it comes to working out, so the fact the the video is only 30 minutes long helps to keep me motivated before starting and during the workout.
There is a bonus ab workout too, but it is very short and not as challenging as some of the instructors other videos.

This exercise dvd is great! I already had a few of Ellen's dvd's that I have been doing so I purchased this one just recently. The workout lasts about 30 minutes which is good for me. Some other dvd's that I have are 45 minutes and some days I just don't have enough time to do them so I use this one. To me, it really gives you a good workout in only 30 minutes.
I like having the handweights so it gives my arms and shoulders a great workout. Also, you are doing standing ab exercises. Any time I am using weights, though, I can only do the workout every other day because I do have a small back problem that I don't want to aggravate.
I highly recommend this video, although I doubt that I will ever have the bikini figure on the cover.

I look forward to doing Self's Bikini Ready Fast and Self's Slim and Sleek because of Ellen! She's supportive, gives great cues, and best of all, sincere. She's not cheesy like most workout divas. Her work out are great too- I always work up a sweat and I'm definately stronger since doing her routines. Bikini Ready Fast feels more focused on the arms,as opposed to Slim and sleek which is more leg focused, though each part of the body is worked hard.
plus- its set on a beach in Mexico and makes a hard workout seem relaxing.
~ oh and she also has great music! You're not going to feel like your'e moving to bad elevator techno from the 80's- her music is what i'd call new age european- i love it!

I have been using this video on and off for 3 years. I bought it before my wedding to tone up on days when I couldn't get to the gym. This is a good total body workout, but does not replace cardio. I like to walk my dog for 30-60 minutes and then come home and do this video. I have neck and back problems, so using light weights is the only way I can weight train without pain. I find the moves in this video to be challenging but very doable, providing a lot of benefits to my posture. The standing ab work is great because traditional crunches put a lot of strain on my neck and back. Buy this video and others by Ellen Barrett. She's really great!!Movie Review: Well-done, Self!

I absolutely love the variety in this workout. Ellen Barrett is a fantastic instructor. (Since using this dvd, I have bought Crunch Burn & Firm Pilates w/ Ellen...you can't go wrong with her.) There are 4 series and a warm-up and cool-down. The menu allows you begin at any series. Some of the moves are pilates-inspired and very controlled. Ellen does a fine job explaining how to breathe, which is helpful. This is a workout that will make those muscles burn (especially the arms). A great leg workout also-be prepared to work your knees. Only disappointment was the very short pilates ab workout. I guess it was intended to be just a bonus.
