Movie Reviews of Seinfeld: Season ThreeMovie Review: Classic and enduring comedy! Summary: 5 Stars
There's nothing dated about this classic sitcom, which defined the late '80s and early '90s TV comedy as Jerry and his buddies traipsed through New York life and its various little adventures.
As the creators promised, Seinfeld is indeed largely "a show about nothing." That said, it's often the little daily annoyances, ups and downs that make for the most entertaining stories in our own lives, and it certainly held true for Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer.
Particularly memorable episodes include "The Note," when George obsesses over a possible "reaction" to a massage from a male masseuse; the two-part "The Boyfriend," when both Jerry and Elaine compete over the attentions of a baseball player they have recently met and become infatuated with (real-life Mets player Keith Hernandez, playing himself); and "The Pen," when Elaine and Jerry visit Jerry's parents in Florida, causing Elaine to wrench her back on a very uncomfortable sofa bed and overdose on muscle relaxants just before attending an event at the Seinfelds' condo association (this was the only episode of the series run in which both George and Kramer did not appear).
Even decades later, the humor of this smart show holds up, perhaps even stronger than ever.
Movie Review: The show about nothing is nothing to sneeze at on DVD Summary: 5 Stars
These are absolutely terrific episodes, but you already knew that, right? Okay, so let me tell you a little about how they're organized in this DVD collection. What's really great is that each episode (well, most of them, anyway) are followed by a one-to-five minute "Inside Look" bonus feature, each of which is essentially a short "making of"/behind-the-scenes piece that discusses the themes of the episode in question and how they were developed. It's really fun getting a little dose of that sort of thing while the episode is still fresh in your mind. And, of course, there are lots of other extras on the final disc. A particular favorite was a nice sampling of extended Seinfeld stand-up routines, using lots of material that didn't make it into the stand-up segments used in the episodes. I'm betting that other TV collections on DVD will emulate the excellent presentation of episodes and extras seen on these "Seinfeld" DVDs. Kudos to all involved for putting together such a great product, especially since everybody must have known they'd still make a fortune even if they just sat back and released bare-bones DVDs of these TV classics. Thanks again... and bring on Season Four!

Movie Review: Best Season of the Show Summary: 5 Stars
I have seen every episode of every season of Seinfeld, and this is my favorite season for two reasons: this is when the show hit its zenith in creativity, and it features my favorite episode: The Boyfriend.
Here's how I rank them:
1. Season Three- as mentioned above
2. Season Four- the "breakthrough" year in terms of popularity, and features several classic episodes.
3. Season Five
4. Season Six- Seasons five and Six seem interchangeable; they are the seasons during which Seinfeld was the most-watched and most popular show on TV
5. Seasons One and Two- more like one season combined, they indicated a show that was growing, eventually exploding in Season Three
6. Season Seven- a classic year with classic shows, but indicative of a darker turn for Seinfeld (more episodes involving accidents, death, etc.)
7. Season Eight- the show was wearing out quickly
8. Season Nine- The show desperately needed to be wrapped up.
Movie Review: So funny, Nice to have the titles of the episodes also. Summary: 5 Stars
I support the transition of television shows to DVD. I do so staunchly because I still have nightmares of the old days as a collector with VHS. The endless stacks of Tapes, It's really hard to hide them from my girlfriend, or....was! NOw with DVD, I can put the discs into a sleeve, discard the box and remain tenderly wise to my girlfriend. I'll pile up books and stuff, and when she's gone, I'll pop in this wonderful collection and pick up some jokes and liners. I always use them, Perfect for water cooler chats. It's the equivalent of Comedy 101. I really see these episodes being shown in film schools. They are an enigma, never before seen. A show, so funny, and wity, yet knumbskullish, and clumsy. I'm confused now. It's so much fun to watch. Ahh, guilty pleasures. Be nice to yourself, Buy the right things, Money is hard to come buy. This is quality stuff.-jeff
