An intra-school relay race becomes a battle of honor that brings socialite Sawachika and school bad boy Harima into an unprecedented alliance. Their clueless classmates decide that Harima is going steady with Sawachika and/or Yakumo (who's secretly helping the aspiring artist with his first manga), when his heart beats only for Yakumo's older sister Tenma--who adores the catatonic Karasuma. The mismatched passions and misinformation afford the filmmakers the opportunity for further outrageous parodies. When Harima goes gift shopping with Tenma, the errand that turns into a spoof of Night on the Galactic Railroad; another episode sends up Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
