Movie Reviews of SayonaraMovie Review: After the book, the film is a slight let down Summary: 4 Stars
I enjoyed the book "Sayonara" by James Michener and looked forward to the movie, but I was a little disappointed by Marlon Brando's performance. For someone who is deeply in love, he came across to me as cold. Marlon's voice, his character's southern accent, and my less than perfect hearing, resulted in many hard-to-understand or missed lines. Fortunately, with a DVD, it is possible to skip back and hear the line again.
This 2 hour 27 minute story follows the book right up to the ending - which is very different from the book.
The movie is good ... but the book is better!
Movie Review: Fun Brando film Summary: 4 Stars
This is a rather silly story line, and Brando is really miscast but as always he is fun to watch. Red Buttons gives an excellent performance as a soldier married to a Japanese woman during the occupation. Still an interesting performance from Brando.
Movie Review: SAYONARA Summary: 4 Stars
LOVE THE MOVIE, ALWAYS HAVE BUT I COULD NOT FIND IT VERY EASY TO PURCHASE. ABOUT HALF WAY THROUGH THE MOVIE IT HAD A COUPLE OF LITTLE SKIPS THAT ANNOYED ME BUT I STILL LIKE IT VERY MUCH.
Movie Review: Sayonara revisited Summary: 4 Stars
service was great
movie was excellent - followed book until about half way through.
Movie Review: Sayonara is old school movie at its best Summary: 4 Stars
Marlin Brando was the main star but Red Buttons stole this movie hook line and sinker.
