Movie Reviews of Saved!Movie Review: Excelllent film, absolutely worth seeing... Summary: 5 Stars
Saved was a thoughtful movie with a message that was worthwhile and not anti-Christian. It gently ridicules conservative, Christian beliefs without being offensive. I have read many critics abuse this film becasue they find it to be anti-Christian and mean-spirited. I think that is absolutely ridiculous because making jokes about Christianity and being anti-Christian are totally different. I attended its first showing at the Newport Beach Film Festival and at the end of the show the the main people associated with the film answered some questions from the audience. One audience member asked where the inspiration for the film came from. One man from the group replied with a simple answer. He had first hand experience. He attended a Christian school. Also, as research, the producres, writers and director went to Christian chatrooms and spoke to teenagers. Those Christian teenagers also were inspiration. One reviewer mentioned something about so many people not being tolerant of Christians. I would like to mention that most (not all, of course) Christians aren't tolerant of a lot too. I'll let you ponder that one......

Movie Review: Are You Down With G-O-D? Summary: 5 Stars
There may have been a lot of controversy surrounding this film, but if that discouraged you from seeing it, this DVD is definitely worth your time.
Mary is a happy Christian teenager starting her senior year of high school. She's got great friends, a cute boyfriend, and is totally devoted to her faith. Everything in her life seems perfect until her boyiend, Dean, tells her that he thinks he's gay. Mary tries to help Dean by sleeping with him, but Dean is sent away and a crazy string of events starts in Mary's life. She begins doubting her beliefs, examing her relationships, and trying to find something real in her life.
The movie is funny, energetic, real, and superbly acted. The performances are intense and the subject matter is something that everyone has an opinion on--a perfect movie for a crazy Saturday night or a politically charged discussion. It's worth it to get the DVD, if only for some fun deleted scenes and bloopers. Saved! is a movie you will watch again and again, no matter your age group, religion, race, sex, or political party you belong to.
