Movie Review: The Struggle for Justice
Summary: 5 Stars

"Sarafina" is a powerful and moving film about the struggle of South African school kids for survival and freedom against apartheid. It is a story of determination, perseverance and courage against tremendous odds. It teaches us that good will always triumph against evil: that the oppressed will always fight back and die to regain their freedom and dignity. The viewer will have a picture of what life was like under apartheid, ranging from school life, living conditions for blacks, the prisons and the brutal police.

I particularly love the beautiful South African music with its rich and outstanding vocals, percussion, horns and the like. You will love the sounds of veterans musicians like Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba.

This is highly recommended for those who want to learn the history of the struggle against social injustice in South Africa.

Movie Review: EMOTIONAL -SENSITIVE - INSPIRING
Summary: 5 Stars

I first stumbled across this viodeo in a library in London. I have watched it time and time again. Its content are not fiction but reflections on the past lives of South African Blacks and their struggle for survival and liberation under the white apartheid regime.

If I were Black South African, I would have died alongside those freedom fighters who are not here today. This video can make you to shed tears whether you are white or black.

Injustice and maltreatment of human by fellow human can be counter productive. Watch Sarafina, own your copy and pay attention to Africa's continuous problems. Its about time the imparialists and colonialist feel guilty and sorry for their sins,
God bless Africa.

Movie Review: Sarafina
Summary: 5 Stars

Sarafina is an excellent movie to show students with parent permission on Apartheid. After teaching Apartheid students were able to view this film and relate to what life was like being being placed in a homeland and losing your citizenships. Students were able to identify with being a citizenship of the homeland but no longer a citizen of Africa. The role Whoppi played as a teacher demonstrated the restrictions placed on Africans by the government. The Bantu police in the film at the school and the prison really enforced what I was teaching in class.
Students wrote an excellent view on the film portraying what they actual learned in the classroom.

Movie Review: Great Then, Great Now
Summary: 5 Stars

I remember watching this movie when I was in middle school. Just so happen to catch on tv. Every now and then I would remember the movie try to find it so that I could buy it. Eventually, I found it and loved watching and even remember most of the songs from years ago.

Very inspirational movie. Love the movie. If you are an emotional movie watcher, you just may cry at some parts. This movie shows the struggle of the African children and the people that strive to make the children lives better than their own.

Movie Review: Sarafina
Summary: 5 Stars

I was embarrased to watch this movie with the lack of understanding that I had before watching it. It was a "eye-opener" for me to see that this kind of behavior actually occured in my lifetime. I am a white women, age 54 and my heart cries out to the mis-justice in the world. This is a must see movie for all people irregardless of race, color or religious beliefs.
