Movie Review: Salt On Our Skin
Summary: 5 Stars
If you're a D'Onofrio fan, you'll really want to own this one. It's a story of passion that seems to ever have the one lover out of step with the other. So many opportunities are given in this film for us to whisper, "I wouldn't do that!" But, "they" do and you get to go along for the ride.
You will see little exchanges that are ever so human between the lovers that eventually, you'll be doing something similiar and be reminded of the film. It'll haunt you like that.
There's passion...there's foolishness...there's love and understanding - what's not to like? It's humanity in all it's glory and nonsense! I'd highly recommend this movie as an afternoon get away!
Summary of Salt on Our Skin
This film is also known as "Desire" in the US. DESCRIPTION: Greta Scacchi sizzles in this sexually charged story of a man and a woman drawn together by physical desires yet divided by class and culture. Georges is a sensual, frank and completely uninhibited woman of today. Gavin is a traditional working man of the sea, simple strong and obedient, a man of yesterday. Friends as children, their immature indifference grows from teenage obsession to full blown passion. Their friendship endures the years and their sexual exploration is often rekindled as they rendezvous periodically in Paris, the Caribbean and Florida. But always, their distinctive worlds clash. Follow Gavin and Georges as they live the full, sad, funny and sexy lives of two people who were never meant to be.
