Movie Reviews of Salem's Lot

Movie Review: WHAT A MASTERPIECE!
Summary: 5 Stars

Stay away from the piece of crap remake and stick with this classic Stephen King horror. This movie to me, is scarier than the book which was also very good. This was made back in the days when C.G.I. had not really been in use, yet the effects really looked real. This is Tobe Hooper's best film along with Poltergeist. Do not even bother with his Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, because they are total crap. Just watch Poltergeist and this great Stephen King vampire story. Oh, and on a side note, Stephen King liked this film as well.

Movie Review: onje of the best king movies ever made
Summary: 5 Stars

i was very pleased when this mini-series ran in the 70's as i have always been a fan of the book! while not as good, this comes closer than any other to finding king's tone. this is the tale of a writer haunted by his childhood in salem's lot,and his return home to face his deamons. problem is a new horror is just coming to town in the form of a vampire!
great creepy thrills as the town is slowly turned into the living dead. very creepy and not for the kids,if you like king or vampires this is one for you!!

Movie Review: great movie
Summary: 5 Stars

Ok so the book is better andit's to long almost, It does slow down in parts and all but once the action starts ot roll near the end you will be on the edge of your seat! I remember seeing this movie on TBS and always wishing for a clear version and this dvd is it, with a very clear pictutre and good sound this is a well made dvd. But it has no extras at all and while some may not like it i say that for the price it's a steal extras or no!

If you like Vampires then give this a try and waste a few hours.

Movie Review: True Horror!
Summary: 5 Stars

It's hard to believe that I was just 3yrs old when this aired on tv. I've always heard about this movie but I've never seen it until recently when I purchased the DVD. This film actually scared me without the use of excess gore. It's more so the atmosphere used to create the sleepy town of Salem's Lot. The vampire make up was ahead of it's time. I found myself comparing this movie with Silver Bullet, but I'd have to say that this was a significantly better film. Scared me more than "IT".

Movie Review: Wonderful and Scary
Summary: 5 Stars

When I first saw Salem's Lot I was 18 years old and had just finished the book. It was on DVD sitting on the rack for 6.99. I bought it. When I got into the movie it got really scary. It was scary to see the Glick boy coming up to his brothers' window with sharp teeth, glowing eyes, as he tapped on the window. It was a wonderfully made movie. when Barlow came out my heart started to pound loudly. he was scary. I reccomend this movie to anyone.
