Movie Review: Sade in her element

This is one dvd that I have played over and over again since receiving. The crowds reaction to No Ordinary Love and By Your Side is really something, not to mention all the other great songs. The visuals used in Slave Song and Somebody Already Broke My Heart were lovely....and as for the two backup vocals who nailed the ending of Somebody Already Broke My Heart....no wonder Sade exited the stage with the little grin on her face, she must've known what the crowds reaction was going to be.
Let me just say that if you are a Sade fan, this is a must have and something you will not regret buying at all...the footage on the dvd of the audience enjoying themselves says it all.
Movie Review: Sade's luxurious voice shines through

This DVD showcases a somewhat new (as of the 2001 recording) sound for Sade, with slightly poppier and quicker supporting music. However, Sade's voice adapts beautifully, and she is one of those singers who just doesn't need the standard studio treatment to sound tremendous. Her buttery, chocolate lyrics come through with mesmerizing clarity on this DVD.
After a few years of owning this DVD, I still enjoy and am transfixed by the wonderful editing, sound, and lights on this DVD. I highly recommend it to add to your "chill-out" collection. No longer the jazzy Sade of yesteryear, the versatility of songs on this long (almost 2-hours?) dvd will keep you grooving for hours.

I think she was fabulous...I had never seen her perform, live or in dvd/taped. Although there were some takes where I wanted to see more closeups and the camera more still on her, I was still satisfied. I didn't pay attention to "technicalities" of her lips being off sync and other minor "specs". I truly enjoyed this video because I truly enjoy her music. I listen to her work because of her beautiful voice and the melody of her songs. So what if she's not showing navel...she's an adult, a performer with class and good taste. You want navel...tune into B. Spears....no class, no taste, yes navel!Kudos to SADE and her band! --A very pleased spectator.

Anyone who loves that classic sound of Sade should also love this DVD. Never in-your-face and always smooth, Sade transports you to another world. Great but classic entertainment. These songs and performances will still be played long after Sade is gone. Sometimes I just turn on the CD player and listen to the live tunes when I'm cleaning up. Sade graces this DVD with behind-the-scenes footage of both her and her band mates, a few clips of India.Arie (her opening act) and special tributes from her fans (whom all seem to adore her), a video and pictures. Definitely well worth the money. A classic production. I ordered what was described basically as a kick butt DVD of Sade's 2001 concert tour. It arrived in time for my wife and me to relive one of the most enjoyable concerts we've attended. For 2 hours Sade pranced around bare foot in a pour-in gown, occasionally turning around to gyrate her well-formed backside, teasing the guys of course, but also causing the ladies to scream as well. At the same time the audience and we were singing along with her and repeatedly rising to our feet, applauding and dancing at the same time. And Sade's got to have the baddest band on the planet. They rock! Unlike some others this DVD lived up to the hype. It's 5 star.
