Movie Review: Best recreation of the Broadway experience

I'm a percussionist who teaches high school band and I use both this video and Stomp Out Loud with my students. This version gives you the exact experience you'll get seeing Stomp at a Theater. There are more bits (lighters, plungers, kitchen sinks, etc.) that you don't get from Stomp Out Loud, but it's all on stage unlike its highly produced predecessor that shifts to actual kitchens, alleyways, and rooftops to enhance the music. The best part about this DVD is you get much more of the theatrical aspect that makes STOMP so entertaining. Each player develops a character throughout the performance with varying levels of comic and musical appeal. It's perfect for getting kids inspired to perform and create music using any object. A couple of years ago my husband and I went to the Broadway show STOMP at the Buell Theatre. The show was outstanding!!! There is absolutely no singing, just stomping, stepping, putting everyday items to a beat. After I purchased the video STOMP Live I was able to share it with my children, one being 14 years old and the other 9. My children totally enjoyed the video. They wish to go with us the next time they come to town. I believe it is a great show to see whether you are on a first date, married with children, or just plain enjoy a great show. It's for everyone to enjoy. If you get a chance to see the show live you won't be dissappointed, and if the show isn't in an area where you can see it live then I reccomend you order this video!Movie Review: WOW!

After having Stomp Out Loud recommended by a friend, I had to see this one, which I ended up liking as much, if not more than the other. Once I saw it, I had to own it. It makes me smile every time I watch it, has me getting out anything I can bang on, makes me laugh and shows me that the one common language of humanity is the rhythm of life in everything - breathing, walking, drumming or nature. Wonderful and highly recommended DVD. These people are so incredibly talented. It's a contagious movie. Be prepared with anything you can make sound with - but not dishes! Incredible! It took me back to the magic & charm of the show I saw in Las Vegas. If you think you can only enjoy so much of watching people banging on junk, you'll be surprised. If you've seen the live show you'll enjoy the experience all over again. This is isn't the Vegas production I saw at Planet Hollywood, this has a smaller cast & stage but it's still awesome. Unfortunately the Vegas show has closed so this is the only convenient way for us west coasters to get a Stomp fix. Stomp Rox!Movie Review: Stomp - amazing!

STOMP was in Sacramento January 2009 during its current tour. The show was so enjoyable from the second from the front row. I ordered this DVD the next day and lived the experience all over again! The DVD contains items not seen on the Sacramento Stage, and in return, Sacramento had at least one performance not on the DVD - Stomp is always experimenting, changing, growing. The DVD is a great capture of the passion, talent, comedy and sound which has made STOMP a favorite of so many.
