Movie Reviews of Run Lola Run [Blu-ray]Movie Review: A Must See masterpiece of A Film Summary: 5 Stars
I never seen this Film until Last Night
There are a Number of Things that Blow my mind about this
Very Unique Must See Film
For one it was made in 1998 You can not tell everything about this film is So Bright, Slick and Screams Now.
This Film is Solid Proof A Movie can go Beyond a Movie and Be True Art (You'd think it was made maybe a year ago) Director/Writer Tom Tykwer is awesome
It was made with a small 2million dollar Budget u can't tell!
This Film does so much with so little it's nothing sort than amazing! Everyone involved put so much of there heart and soul into getting this Film made and put out
It's so worthy to be a Cult Film!
The Actors are Perfectly Cast
Franka Potente as Lola steels the Film (I wish her major Success and happiness) She really has that "IT" Factor that so many young American Actress don't have these days!
The soundtrack is also stunning it serves a major part of the Moving/Pacing of the film!
The Best way to try 2 explain the Plot is Simple
Take The grittiness "Real" Feel of A Film like Reservoir Dogs mix it with Groundhog Day/Sliding Doors & Romeo and Juliet
and you'll have Run Lola Run
It's one of those Films That can evoke so many emotions
And you'll watch it again and again
I never saw this film on any other Format (LD, Vhs, DVD) But, as far as a HD Transfer it's Great. Good Bright Colors, Plenty of Detail.... In the Still Running 10Year Feature u do see SD Clips from the film those snippets will give u a Idea how good the HD transfer is!
Without a Doubt a True Buried Treasure and a Must Own for any Film Collector who want the Best Print Version to Date
I Highly recommend this BR 9.8/10
Summary of Run Lola Run [Blu-ray]RUN LOLA RUN - Blu-Ray Movie It's difficult to create a film that's fast paced, exciting, and aesthetically appealing without diluting its dialogue. Run Lola Run, directed and written by Tom Tykwer, is an enchanting balance of pace and narrative, creating a universal parable that leaps over cultural barriers. This is the story of young Lola (Franka Potente) and her boyfriend Manni (Moritz Bleibtreu). In the space of 20 minutes, they must come up with 100,000 deutsche marks to pay back a seedy gangster, who will be less than forgiving when he finds out that Manni incompetently lost his cash to an opportunistic vagrant. Lola, confronted with one obstacle after another, rides an emotional roller coaster in her high-speed efforts to help the hapless Manni--attempting to extract the cash first from her double-dealing father (appropriately a bank manager), and then by any means necessary. From this point nothing goes right for either protagonist, but just when you think you've figured out the movie, the director introduces a series of brilliant existential twists that boggle the mind. Tykwer uses rapid camera movements and innovative pauses to explore the theme of cause and effect. Accompanied by a pulse-pounding soundtrack, we follow Lola through every turn and every heartbreak as she and Manni rush forward on a collision course with fate. There were a variety of original and intelligent films released in 1999, but perhaps none were as witty and clever as this little gem--one of the best foreign films of the year. --Jeremy Storey
