Movie Reviews of Roxanne

Movie Review: Cyrano de Bergerac was never so amusing
Summary: 4 Stars

An updated (and English!) version of Cyrano de Bergerac, this movie is wonderful. Steve Martin really shines as a self-effacing Fire Chief, and Darryl Hannah is always fun to watch. The humour (most of which surrounds Steve Martin's large nose) is funny but never interferes with the true love story at the heart of this movie.

Movie Review: The Classic Chick-Flick
Summary: 4 Stars

Cyrano is the classic chick-plot of all time. And nobody could retell it like it is retold here. The sexual inuendo in places cost this one a star in my rating but otherwise this is a wonderful romantic comedy with a wonderful retelling of an age-old classic tale.

Movie Review: Good Funny Movie
Summary: 3 Stars

I enjoyed it. Its not something to watch more than afew times; Daryl Hannah is good in it and so is Steve Martin.

Movie Review: PG-13
Summary: 2 Stars

I am eighteen years old and I was stupid enough to watch this movie with my family. "Roxanne" was innappropriate for family viewing due to I don't know how many references to sex, and one shot of the title character's backside while she was, shall we say, un-clothed. It was a funny movie, and I might possibly recommend it for adults and older teens, but definitely not for anyone under the age of fifteen. I do not see how this movie could have earned a PG rating instead of PG-13, which I believe it deserved.
