As an avid Ronan Tynan fan, I was thrilled to view the DVD of his performance in Dublin. Dubbed the Impossible Dream, this piece showcases Tynan's incomparable talent as well as his inviting personality. When he performs, he is really engaged with the audience. The London Gospel Choir was fantastic and a wonderful combination performing with Ronan Tynan. Tynan quite obviously had a warm bond with the choir. This DVD is a must have.

Recorded live at the RDS in June 2002, the Impossible Dream is a powerful musical journey through the life of the great Irish Tenor Ronan Tynan. With the 51 piece RTE Concert Orchestra and The London Community Gospel Choir, Ronan pays tribute to his beloved family and to those people who have inspired and sustained him throughout his remarkable life. By bravely broadening his repertoire to include inspirational contemporary Irish songs by Brian Kennedy and U2, together with classics by Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim and Joni Mitchell, Ronan sets himself an enormous task. But as you will see from his towering performance, it is a task that he takes in his stride, as he proves himself to be one of the greatest performers of our time. Special features include the bonus documentary 'Aftershow, Afterglow'; an intimate portrait of Ronan Tynan at home in Kilkenny, just days after his sell-out triumph in The Impossible Dream at Dublin's RDS.
