Movie Reviews of Roller Boogie

Movie Review: "I used to hate to skate/now I can't wait!"
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an awesome movie. It basically involves a time and place in the late seventies where disco and roller skating have basically taken over the world. The beautiful Linda Blair plays the heroine. She is an heiress who is a musical genius.

"I'm a musical genius! What a drag! What a bummer!"

She decides what she really wants to do is win a roller boogie contest. And to her this is more important than anything, including her music career. She recruits a young dufus that is a rollerskating genius. The dufus is best friends with 'Phones' who is sidekick. The Dufus and Phones are trying to take over the boardwalk and colonize it with roller rinks or something.

Linda Blair and the Dufus fall in love but the Dufus is so dumb he keeps messing things up. That is really about it. That is the whole movie. There is some cool disco music and some cool roller-disco dance moves. Besides the music the only reason I can think of for watching this is to watch that goddess Linda Blair.

I was at Wal-mart with my brother a couple days ago and I saw a hot girl that looked a lot like Linda Blair except she looked like a cow-girl. My brother insists she was Russian. So she was basically a Russian cow-girl Linda Blair look alike. I usually am not afraid to talk to girls but this girl made me too nervous to talk to.

Movie Review: THE BEST DISCO MOVIE SINCE S NIGHT FEVER
Summary: 5 Stars

I LOVE THIS MOVIE. I SAW IT WAY BACK WHEN IT WAS RELEASED. I SAW IT A FEW TIMES. I LOVED IT THEN, AND STILL LOVE THE MOVIE NOW. I BOUGHT IT ON VHS A FEW YEARS AGO. WHEN I SAW THAT IT WAS RELEASED ON DVD, I SAID I GOTTA HAVE IT. I GOT IT, AND IT WAS LIKE SEEING THE MOVIE FOR THE 1ST TIME. THE SOUND WAS CLEAR AND CRISP. THE COLOUR WAS SHARP. MGM DOES A GREAT JOB. KUDOS TO THEM. I AM A LINDA BLAIR FAN, SO I AM PARTIAL TO HER FILMS. BUT SHE IS THE BEST THING IN THIS MOVIE, ALSO THE MUSIC IS REALLY COOL. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL LP SOUNDTRACK. I NOW WANT THE CD VERSION, IF I CAN FIND IT. THE PREMISE IS KINDA LAME, BUT LINDA AND JIM BRAY SHINE THROUGH. I LIKE JIM'S FRIENDS. JIMMY VAN PATTEN IS WELL KNOWN. HE COMES FROM A SHOW BUSINESS FAMILY. BEVERLY GARLAND IS A VETERAN. CHER SINGS THE OPENING SONG. WHAT ELSE COULD YOU ASK FOR? IF YOU LIKE 70 DISCO MUSIC, I RECOMMENED THIS FILM. IF YOU ARE NOT? RENT IT ANYWAY JUST FOR THE SOUNDTRACK ALONE. THANKS ALOT

Movie Review: Finally On DVD-Thanks MGM!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was really happy to see this late '70s "rollerploitation" movie on DVD. It was really difficult to find on VHS a few years ago, and the ones I found were over $50! This movie looks great on DVD, the transfer is clear, and the colours are vibrant. On this disc, you have a choice of full-screen or wide-screen. It's a double sided disc. There are not a lot of features, you just get the movie trailer, but it's still great to see this gem released on disc. For fans of '70s disco music, the soundtrack has lots to offer and sounds great on DVD. I am glad to see that MGM re-released this Linda Blair classic because they always do a nice job with making sure that the prints they use are prestine, unlike some junior distributors that will use the worst print available, and put it on DVD. If you are a fan of Linda Blair, or just like a fun movie to watch, you can't go wrong with this boogie classic!

Movie Review: Roller Boogie is Awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

I was so excited to see that this movie was being sold on DVD. I really enjoy the show. I grew up in the 80's and I loved roller skating. If you are not a major critic and enjoy roller skating, then get the movie. The movie is really exciting with alot of great music and lots of skating. It brought back some of the memories of my younger days. I intend to buy two more movies for my and my friends.

Movie Review: best cheese I've ever seen
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best roller movie I have seen. Xanadu was my favorite movie for 15 years until I saw Bobby James skate in Roller Boogie. All the necessary cheese is included: love scenes, people falling into a pool, chase scenes, lots of lycra, romance at the rink, walking along the beach, rich parents, fancy cars, food fight.....Fantastic cheeseball outfits and lines, great roller boogie shots......
