Movie Review: Hilarious and Timeless
Summary: 5 Stars
My husband and I saw this for the first time years ago, before we had children. We loved it then. We shared it with our children within the past year (hard to get a hold of!). We recorded it onto our DVR and my kids watched it more than 5 times a week, weekly for MONTHS. You'd think my husband or I would tire of it. Nope. I finally found here at Amazon for $15. I snagged it up. WE LOVE this movie. ALL of us quote from it, pretty much daily. Husband, 30- Me, 29- Son, 6 and other Son, 3 (dd is only 18mos but she is amused by it as well).
Fred Randall is a wonderful character and children can relate to him because he is clumsy and doofy and creative but yet still smart in his own special way. This movie relies heavily on slapstick, silly jokes, body humor...everything this family loves to laugh at. Life itself is serious enough, we love popping this movie in at the end of the week with some popcorn or pizza and just laughing together as a whole family.
If you are looking for clever thought provoking humor, with amazing space graphics and emmy award winning acting- you'll be better off looking elsewhere. But if you want to sit down and laugh with your family, not have to worry about inappropriate jokes (even the ones that go over the little ones head's) or flashes of skin, and enjoy a good gassy joke, with characters that you (and your kids) love and can relate to...then watch this movie! =0)
We love Mr. Bean...so ridiculous silly dumb humor is delightful to us. I wish we could give this movie more than 5 stars!
The ONLY bummer about this DVD is that it has ZERO extras. But guess what? We don't care too awful much- I knew it ahead of time and bough it anyway. Some gag reels would have added to the fun or a scene index so you could jump ahead and around to your fave scenes (trust me, you'll find some!).
