A must see for anyone who missed this in their childhood (or wanted to relive it to an extent). May also be a must see for anyone enjoying ANIME in general or RoboTech in specific (per it's most recent incarnation) today. A stepping stone between "Speed Racer" & where all that is today.
Summary of Robotech - Final Conflict (Vol. 6)
The reconstruction of the Earth with the help of the few remaining Zentraedi - loyal to Breetai- is slow going. It is a time of great uncertainty on both a global and personal scale. The reappearance of Khyron, the rogue Zentraedi warlord, offers the Robotech Defense force a final opportunity to restore peace to their savaged planet. The lives and loves of these beleaguered survivors form the backdrop to an ultimate showdown for the fate of mankind. The bittersweet conclusion to the Macross Saga, the pivotal first act of one of the greatest animated epics.The Lisa-Rick-Minmei romantic triangle plays out against the threat of rebel Zentraedi captain Khyron and the distant menace of the Robotech Masters, who created the Protoculture. The climactic battle pits the SDF-1 and the new SDF-2 commanded by Lisa against Khyron. Lisa and Rick discover their true feelings for each other in the aftermath of the disaster. Members of Gen-X who grew up on Robotech will delight in retracing the affections and battles; viewers accustomed to the faster pacing and more dramatic conflicts of recent anime will grow impatient with the endless shilly-shallying.
