Movie Review: Audrey Hepburn's masterful performance is beyond amazing!

I watched this movie a long, long time ago. I recall the the movie being slow and somewhat tormented. What made this movie so memorable even after all these years is Audrey Hepburn's extraordinary performance at the end of the movie. Not only, IMHO, was this Audrey Hepburn's very best performance of her long and distinguished career, but perhaps the best performance by an actress ever! Even after all these years (decades) I still remember how she expresses her love to Robin "... I love you ... more than the morning prayers .....". Simply brilliant!Movie Review: Hearts in full bloom

When we surf over to the hundreds of reviews for the Matrix and Lord of the Rings, here lurks a more beautiful and heroic story. Connery was never better then in the mid 1970's, always robust but distilled with a dogged patina by life being lived. And Mrs Hepburn adds such gracefull depth. I feel better whenever I think about this film, and though Connery is the biggest reason to see it, the feel of the story is so welcome when one is tired of special effects and gratuitous sex. loved this movie years ago and was thrilled to be able to own it. great story, robin hood back from the crusades. drama, laughs, armor and fights. what more could you want? and the times are portrayed realistically, (for Hollywood), people get dirty, the kings court is shown as much as it would have been.

This is an interesting interpretation of the old fable. It starts slow but picks up after Robin and Little John return to England. Sean Connery gives a fine performance as would be expected. Robert Shaw's interpretation as the Sheriff is wonderful. Not your ordinary Robin Hood story, but well worth the time to watch.
