If you like westerns or history you will love this movie. Action and plot. I have not been a big Tobey Maquire fan, but cannot find fault with him at all in this movie. He deservies a lot of credit for doing a movie that is not politically correct and not heavily hyped. Cannot say enough good things about this movie.Movie Review: Devil of a ride

I really liked this movie, a gem of a film that flew under my radar when it was released. I didn't know that Toby had done a film of this quality. I'm astonished that this movie never got more recognition. Possibly the best performances these actors ever gave. Fascinating story, even if you're not particularly interested in the Civil War. This movie is well played and acted. It portrays the stuggles of boys in a mens war. I never heard of the movie until 6 months ago. Underrated is a understatement. A must see.
