Movie Review: An Entertainment Treasure

reviews for this film that were dead-on what this movie is about (like
Lawrance from Deluth, MN--the best). I won't even try to go there.
But I will tell you I liked it so much I'm going to buy it and watch it many times over; reccommend it to my friends and family. Ride With the
Devil is what going to the movies is all about.
Movie Review: WELL WORTH WATCHING

This film has stuff for everyone. For guys it has action, adventure and suspense. For the gals, it is also a love story set in tragic surroundings. It is also one of the few films that stays away from the usual stereotyping of the Southernors of the 1860s. It also shows that Blacks fought for the South. And not as ignorant slaves. Yes it shows the bigotry of some. But, also that some Confederate Soldiers were against slavery. And they were fighting for states rights.Movie Review: Great Civil War Movie

It's not too often that I read a great book, then see the movie and think the movie is as good. This was one of those rare cases. I loved the book, and the movie was outstanding too. Tobey Maguire, Skeet Ulrich and Jewel all do a great job in this movie about the border war in Missouri and Kansas. Ride with the devil was different fromany civil war movie that I had ever seen. Its strat forward and honest. The acting is haunting set to Kansas country side and beautiful music. When I first heard about this film, I couldn't wait to see it, even though I had to drive 40 miles to a small theatre that was showing it, and I gladly wnt again the next day. The language and mannerisms are nearly spot-on for 19th century Mid-America. Films that accurately portray body language and syntax from previous times are invariably panned as "slow and plodding" or "hard to understand". This movie is an good as any ever made at showing the social interaction of the times. A great, great movie.
