Movie Reviews of Revolutionary RoadMovie Review: Avid Kate Winslet Fan. Summary: 5 Stars
Beautiful rendition of the classic american lifestyle. What attracted me originally was the fact that this took place in Connecticut, where I am from, and then the fact that Leo and Kate were working together again and this is a heady strong battle between to lovers. My friend argues otherwise but I think this is a deep film with a strong message.
Have yet to watch this dvd as I am just updating my collection and had previously viewed it but I'm sure it will be fine. No scratches are prevalent on the discs I orer offline.
Movie Review: A film that stays with you Summary: 5 Stars
I never thought I would like this film, about a married couple in the 1950's but for some reason it gets to you. This married couple's living the American life, the nice house,2 kids, and a good job,but want more, and almost make there dream come true, but something happens that should have been a blessing.
The acting is fantastic.Kate Winslet and Dicaprio are 2 of the greatest working actors today.I would love to see them in a comedy next.
"Revolutionary Road" is a movie you still think about after its over.
Movie Review: a classic Summary: 5 Stars
Perfectly directed, acted, written, constructed --- in every way, a great and complex film. The second time I saw it, I was overcome by the beautiful construction, how perfectly everything revealed itself. Perhaps not as unusually strange and delicate a film as American Beauty, but Mendes is one of the few great contemporary directors. But, why he chose "Away We Go" is a mystery to me: a script and story way below his ability, and what he has done in the past. Dave Eggers is NOT in the same league as Mendes.
Movie Review: Easily one of the best films of 2008 Summary: 5 Stars
The Bottom Line:
It didn't get the Best Picture nomination it deserved and Kate Winslet got a trophy for her inferior performance in The Reader, but Sam Mendes's brilliant adaptation of Revolutionary Road deserves to be recognized for the way it breathes new life into the cliched subject of American suburbia: with its perfect cast, beautifully stark cinematography, vitriolic screenplay and agonizing conclusion, this is a searing and nearly great film.
3.5/4
Movie Review: Well done movie. Summary: 5 Stars
I liked this movie very much but, like the book, it sort of depressed me. I have to say that Frank and April came off as less likeable in the movie than they did the book--Revolutionary Road (Movie Tie-in Edition) (Vintage Contemporaries)--but it was a good movie, if you want to invest the time. For me, it was nice to see life as it was back in the 50s.
