Movie Review: Remember to Breath

I was 10 years old when I saw `Rendezvous' for the first time. It was 1981 and my father brought it home on a 16mm projector version, and showed it on the family slide projector screen. As a kid I was truly blown away, and as an adult I am still astonished by this work. Truthfully, I feel that anyone who has seen these nine breathtaking minutes of amazing footage will be left with an indelible mark in his or her mind. I was very excited to see that this was finally out on DVD after so many years, and although it is not available here at Amazon, it is available for purchase over at speedtv.com. I would highly recommend this wonderful Claude Lelouche work for anyone who enjoys a fast paced chase scene, or just the thrill of seeing beautiful European shops, avenues and cobblestone streets fly by at more than 100 mph. Most Hollywood cinematic features that involve an element such as this only wish they could emulate it with such reality, for reality is what `Rendezvous' truly is.Movie Review: Take a deep breath

Rendevous is one of the most exciting 9 minutes you'll every spend viewing a movie. Bolero would be an appropriate soundtrack for it, as the speed builds and the danger increases as the Ferrari leaves the broad venue of the Champs Elysee and encounters every more narrow, curvy and crowded streets. The ending is sheer brilliance and in the blink of an eye offers all the explanation that is needed. This is one of the most exciting 9 video minutes I have ever experienced! If you are a "Car Guy" (as I am), turn up the sound, turn down the lighting and be prepared to be thrilled! The ride will have you flinching, leaning and wiping your brow at its conclusion. I can extract existential meaning from every second, and the conclusion is truly satisfying. The introductory text is comprehensive and truly "sets the table" for what follows. I give this piece an enthusiastic 2 THUMBS UP!Movie Review: Rendezvous - Enhanced.

I recently received the remastered dvd version of this 9 minute classic. I have owned the vcr tape
version for many years, but have heard this dvd remake is superior. It definitely is. Both the video
and audio have been improved. The color images are a bit brighter and the images are more
sharply defined. The audio has also been cleaned up and sounds "brighter" than the tape version.
Anyone who was a fan of the original should enjoy this upgraded version.

Any motorhead that does not own and worship the greatest 9 minutes of unedited, non-enhanced street driving ever filmed should turn in their string-backed driving gloves and stick to the animated feature "Cars". This is simply the best ever. I still want to know who was actually driving for LaLouch....alas, we shall probably never find out. If you don't have this on DVD, shame on you!
