Movie Review: Stop calling this a "B" Movie!
Summary: 5 Stars
A B-Movie is a film that borderlines on dumb. It has a sub-par script and is acted by "B-list" actors. A perfect example of this would be any movie that has Katherine Heigl in it, or any movie produced by the Wayans brothers. B-movies, in general, are not good. If it has special effects, they usually aren't good either.
These qualifiers do not describe Reign of Fire in any way, shape or form. When this movie was released, it slipped under the radar of the mainstream movie-going public. This fact does not make it a B-movie. It makes it an ignored movie.
Some reviewers here have said that this movie starts off "slow." Basically, that means there is actual story development you have to pay attention to before you get to the action. (And when you do get to the action it's intense.) I showed this movie to some friends who had never heard of it, and now they want to buy it for themselves. I will buy the Blu-ray edition for them as a gift. That's about as good an endorsement any DVD can get.
It is not a B-movie.
