Movie Review: To Answer Any Questions You May Have

The DVD is programmed so the DTS 5.1 stream is the default audio when you insert the disc into your player. If you do not have a 5.1 system, especially one that supports DTS 5.1 or is not set-up properly to playback 5.1 with the correct cables, then you will not hear the audio stream if you press play immediately. You will need to go the set-up screen and choose one of the other audio streams which will be playable on your system.
To comment on Sam's review below, there are 4 audio streams on the Four Tops DVD, the fourth audio stream contains the original broadcast audio for every TV performance on the DVD, especially the songs that were lip-sync'd. The DVD was programmed so that the audio streams contain remastered audio for those that want to hear the best possible performance in audio streams 1-3 (Stream 1 - 5.1, Stream 2 - Stereo Studio Remasters, Stream 3 - Stereo A Cappellas) while the fourth audio stream was included for the purists like Sam who want to see and hear the clips as they were originally broadcasted. All of this is detailed in the artwork and listed on the set-up menu.
Please make sure your system is set-up properly to playback DTS 5.1 (correct cables - optical or coaxial - not red&white stereo analog cable, player/receiver decodes DTS) or make sure the the correct audio stream is selected from the set-up menu that works for your home theatre system before you start to view the content.

You will completely enjoy this DVD. If you did not know how great The Four Tops were, you will be overwhelmingly surprised ! They were all wonderful entertainers, but Levi Stubbs, well, they are no written words to describe his overall talent. This DVD is a must see for all Four Tops fans. One of the greatest group of all time !
In addition, I must give a "SHOUT OUT" for the artistic arrangement of this DVD ! The musical arrangement for the commencement of this DVD is nothing short of outstanding... brilliant ! The selection of their musical stage acts are fantastic ! Especially for the song "Loving you is Sweeter Than Ever." The footage of that performance not only shows how great Levi Stubbs was as an interpreter of song, but also the love and joy that existed among the members of the group. They were truly a group of great friends. Such an enjoyable delight to see !

Movie Review: EXCELLENT!

I bought this video and watched it all the way through. I had been hoping they would release a Motown Definitive Performances dvd of the Four Tops. Well I have to say, the interviews were interesting, as well as the A Capellas and the performances. Well most of the performances.
The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was because about half of the performances were lip-synced. In other words, they took the video and put the original track instead of whatever the real audio track was. Now I dont know if this was done on purpose, or this was how the original broadcast was, but Ive seen vids of the same songs that arent lip synced.
But the performances that werent lip synced were spectacular. Good quality videos. Id recommend this to any Four Tops fan!
****UPDATE****
Contrary to what is written above, DVD King has informed me that the DVD plays on different audio streams, the default being remastered tracks, and another being the original streams. Watching these that way was better. It has 5 stars now.
Movie Review: THE SOUND IS AMAZING

I am writing this comment on behalf of my husband JOE LAURO who is the Director/Producer of this DVD. I just read a "unhappy" review left by Jeanette Gary Lloyd who commented that the DVD has no sound. Please note that this DVD was produced in 5.1 SURROUND SOUND and utilized the original MOTOWN MASTER TAPES to create AMAZING sound. THERE IS SOUND ON ALL OF THE COPIES!!!!...The menu page of the dvd states CLEARLY that a minor adjustment on your remote is neccesary to get the sound..the sound certainly is there but you will have to follow this one-step adjustment to get the 5.1 sound. Not sure why Ms. Lloyd didn't notice this or ignored it as this is the standard with any and all 5.1 audio releases...remember, this is a MUSIC film so the audio is most important and we have presented the absolute BEST POSSIBLE sound...all that you need to do is follow the simple instructions!!

Wow..what a story!..unlike most "Behind The Music" type Rock & Roll stories with battling band members, drug abuse and worse it is refreshing to hear the intimate tale of a hit group that LOVED EACH OTHER and stayed together for 40+ years until death tore them apart..Tops member DUKE FAKIR tells the story with heart and soul.
GREAT rare performances, some live and some which were originally lip synced were RE-lip synced with the amazing original MOTOWN masters instead of the thin TV audio of the day. Brilliant idea and very well executed.
Just the originally MOTOWN years are covered here and only a brief mention of their ABC DUNHILL and later MOTOWN period . i LOVE this DVD !!!!!!!
