Movie Reviews of Rammstein - Lichtspielhaus

Movie Review: Bloody Amazing!
Summary: 5 Stars

Rammstein has done it again with this wicked awesome DVD! It features all of their breakthrough videos "Du Riechst So Gut" to "Mutter." So just that makes it a must have for any Rammstein fan. It also features "making of" documentaries of selected videos: Du Hast, Du Riechst So Gut, Links 2-3-4, Sonne, and Ich Will.

The live performances are truly amazing. The video clips taken from various performances from Rammstein's career show the evolution and the awesomeness of this truly wonderful band. The performance of "Seemann" and the Big Day Out clip are the most memorable.

The only downside to the DVD is the lack of live performances that aren't already featured in the music video section. The menus are cool and the interviews are a real treat. The sound quality is awesome, but the DVD is not in 5.1 surround if you're into that sort of thing. I highly recommend this DVD and I say it's a must have if you're a Rammstein fan.

Movie Review: If you like Rammstein, why don't you already own this?!?!?!
Summary: 5 Stars

As an American who's a fan of the German band Rammstein, it's near impossible to get quality copies of their collection of videos and to see their concert performances. Live Aus Berlin was a great taste of their live show, Lichtspielhaus however gives you all of their videos throughout the entire span of their career so far, at an incredibly low price also!

Where to start however? It's simply amazing, there videos are simply amazing and ground breaking. The imagery in some of them is incredible considering how they're just a rock group (don't get me wrong here, rock groups just aren't really known for their inspiring videos). The interviews with the memebers were great, its not that often you get to see interviews with them to be honest. Plus all the concert footage.

The only real problem I had with this was that I found the menu to be a bit hard to navigate through, but it could ahve been a lot worse.

So go out and buy this...NOW!!!!

Movie Review: Ausgezeichnet!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great DVD. Like several people have said before, every true fan of Rammstein needs this DVD.

First, the good: Everything is well done and there is quite a bit packed into this DVD. I especially like having every music video in one place. The live shows are excellent and illustrate Rammsteins development on stage from 1996-2001. The making of videos are entertaining and illuminate the bands true personality. It also gave me a chance to test my fading ability to understand spoken German.

Now, the bad: there are not enough live songs. Rammsteins essence is best revealed on strange, so it was disappointing that there were only about ten or so live songs. Given that Bück Dich did not appear on the Live Aus Berlin DVD, I had been holding out hope that it would appear on "Lichthausspiel." No such luck. Still, if that is the only negative thing that I can say, then Rammstein has done an excellent job with this DVD.

Movie Review: Jammed Packed - Awesome Bargain!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is THE item for any Rammstein fan to have, and I can't believe how cheap it is! Not only are the music videos there, but great behind-the-scenes material and interviews. There's also an excellent sampling of several concerts. At this price, I'd even recommend it for someone who, like me, had never even heard of Rammstein before. This was my first exposure to them, believe it or not, and it gave me a great taste of their musical range and performances. It gives the new listener/viewer an excellent sample of their albums, so you can decide if you are a hardcore fan, or if you just want to stick with one particular album. Also, if you're new to Rammstein, don't let labels like "industrial metal" or "pyrotechnics" scare you off. An open mind to the musical range and performance talent of this band will be well rewarded.

Be warned, after viewing "Lichtspielhaus" you might end up wanting ALL their CDs!

Movie Review: A view from a forever fan
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased the PAL Version of this dvd because of the limited edition artwork and I can happily say I was not disappointed. I had to steal my son's X-Box in order to watch it but since he is a fan too is was ok. It is definitely the best put together dvd I have ever seen. The menu is so European and Industrial...it rocks!! The videos are utterly amazing and the making of's are truly priceless. You get little insights from the band members regarding the meaning of the songs. The live segments are also amazing. I will buy the NTSC version when it is released here in January just so my son can have his X-Box back. I will be able to play that one on my dvd player and keep the limited edition in mint condition. Trust me...it is worth every single penny. If you like Rammstein even a little I suggest you buy this dvd and you will become a full fledged fan like myself. R+ forever!
