Movie Reviews of Raise Your Voice

Movie Review: Excellent tear jerker
Summary: 5 Stars

When I took my 11- and 12-year old daughters to see this movie, I expected another one of those "I want to be famous" movies where the kid singer gets her wish. I was very surprised. This movie is about a young girl who deals with the untimely death of her teenaged brother, her role in his death, and her inability to carry on her own dreams while grieving. I was also very pleased with the many good messages throughout the movie. For example, the movie showed how incredibly hard artists have to work in order to succeed, how very competitive the entertainment industry is, that you don't have to give a guy what he wants physically in order to keep him, that obeying your parents is a good thing, that going to church can be a positive part of a teenager's life, and that no matter how bad things get there is always someone who has it worse off than you do. I loved this movie. We took my husband and some of the kids' friends to see it a second time, and I cried even more, and my husband was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the movie. Hilary Duff has grown incredibly as a singer and an actress since The Lizzie McGuire Movie. This one was worth seeing more than once and I intend to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

Movie Review: Best Yet!
Summary: 5 Stars

Raise Your Voice was awesome! It was Hilary's best movie yet! Hilary gives her greatest performance as Terri, a shy girl with a huge talent for singing and writing. When she wants to go to a summer music program, her dad says no, but her brother supports her and secretly submits an application. After a tradgey in her family, Terri doesn't want to sing anymore, but when she gets accepted to the school she finds the courage to believe in herself again.

This really isn't your typical Hilary Duff movie. More dramatic, it really shows how good of an actress Hilary can be. Terri goes through such a wide range of emotions, from happy to dpressed to lonely to sad, Hilary conquers all of these. Hilary's performance is so good that you feel what Terri feels, and are rooting for her until the end. John Corbett's character adds comedy to the movie, and Oliver James's charatcer is there to help Hilary at the school.

I highly reccommend this movie for anyone. It makes you feel good at the end and is perfect for anyone who enjoys a good movie.

Movie Review: hilary duff does drama...very well i might add
Summary: 5 Stars

i couldn't believe that hilary duff could do something besides teen comedies, but she proved me wrong with "raise your voice". i have been a hilary duff fan since her wonderful work in "lizzie mcguire" and have grown to know her as this sweet wholesome girl who can do nothing but put a smile on your face, and she hasn't changed with this movie, however, she adds another dimension to her resume-dramatic actress. something that niether lindsay lohan or any other popular teen actress these days has shown, a movie with real emotion and depth, hilary does with "raise your voice". i don't cry in movies, and needless to say i didn't cry for this one, but in the first fifteen minutes of the show, there were all these people tearing out their kleenex packets and dabbing their leaking faces. i won't give away anything from the film, i'm not that kind of guy, but i will give away the fact that hilary duff has a long career ahead of her. 5 out of 5 stars and if there were more stars to give, i would give it the limit.

Movie Review: Hilary Duff ROCK STAR, MOVIE STAR, AWESOME!
Summary: 5 Stars

Alright well I know ALL her movies are awesome (cadet kelly, cheaper by the dozen, a cinderella story, etc.)
But Raise Your Voice is different, it's probably the best...

Raise Your Voice is about Terri Fletcher, an aspiring singer whose dream was to go a classy music school summer program. So her and her aunt Nina work a plan, because her dad is less understanding about the situation, and say Terri is staying with her. But the night of her brother Paul's graduation (jason ritter) Terri sneaks her and her brother out of the house for a 3 Days Grace concert, but on the way back they get hit by a car and sadly her brother dies, and Terri has no interest in singing anymore. But her brother sent a tape to the school and they approved, and Terri was accepted. At the end she performs, and sings more because she knows her brother would be happy if she did. And she finds love also, and new friends.

Great acting, singing, everything!

LOVE THIS MOVIE!

Movie Review: GREAT!
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this movie!!! I loved the acting, the songs, and the scenes! This was an awsome!
In the movie Terri Fletcher(Hilary Duff) Is a small town girl with a big time voice. She wants to go to Bristol-Hilman Music Conservatory for 3 weeks in Aug., but her dad won't let her.
On the night of her brother's graduation, they both get into a car accident and her brother gets killed. Then she gets accepted but does'nt want to go anymore. But her mom and aunt get her to and lie to her dad by saying that she will be with her aunt. So Terri goes to Bristol-Hilman.
When she gets there she meets hot Jay Corgan(Oliver James) And is bratty girlfriend. She also meets and becomes friends w/ her roommate Denise Gilmore.
As the movie goes on she has trouble and even considersleaving, but Jay helps her and they fall in love. I personally think Hilary was great in this movie and it was one of her best.
