Movie Review: The Dark Lord and the ending of a journey...
Summary: 4 Stars
The short, 26 episode series comes to an end with the final battle to destroy/bring down, the rising of creatures throughout the world of Ragnarok. Roan, Yufa, Maya, Iruga and Judia continue their quest to defeat the Dark Lord without Takius/Catherine (who has "supposedly," disappeared) by saving Keough and themselves, as well as the rest of the world.
While in the world of Rune-Midgar, on the island of Comodo. Roan races to save Yufa who is straying farther and farther away (mentally) from the group, (only to find that he is too late to save her from joining her delirious brother, Haze/Keough) the rest of the companions on the island of Comodo face their own problems and dilemmas. Iruga struggles against Keough, Maya faces Zealotus ( a half monster-human) and Judia is almost fatally injured. Soon after the companions rest under the care of the wizards, and afterwards journey towards Glast Heim when they are attacked by a posed Yufa, but are than saved by Maya.
But at the end of the fight they are all transported to Glast Heim, where they face Zephyr (the wizard/mentor of Takius), Keough (the brother of Yufa and best friend of Iruga) and The Dark Lord himself. Two of the main characters either die or "disappear" at the end of the series. But in the end the companions triumph over the evil and save Midgar.
This was a nice anime series to watch, especially between watching long anime series that sometimes causes me to have a headache. If you enjoy fantasy, role-playing, and the makes of World of Warcraft, than you might enjoy Ragnarok the Animation. The animation isn't the best in the world, but it isn't the worst either. The characters are nicely fleshed-out and have unique personalities and original styles (such as Iruga being afraid of bugs, [which reminds us of Misty from Pokemon], Yufa treating Roan like her pack mule, Judia clinging to Iruga who seems indifferent to her feelings, Takius being "blindly," loyal to her mad mentor, Maya's love for a monster and engrossed for selling/collecting goods, ect...) the storyline is fun and lighthearted. The series is a cute installment to any anime collection/collector, things are wrapped up nicely and leaves you with a feeling of content where you can imagine what happens to the companions as they set-of on a new adventure. Although I advise that there will not be another season of Ragnarok the Animation, but I heard from somewhere that they are making a new series based on the new Ragnarok Online RPG series.

Every journey must come to an end and the same is certainly true for Roan and his mighty band of adventurers. A few brief points of light still linger along their path from long lost friends to brigand impersonators but these are to be short-lived and lost forever in the past. The sea of darkness has grown into a tidal wave as the Dark Lord's power reaches its zenith.There remains only one last hope between all that is good and evil: the magic might and mystery of true heroes! But that last hope is fast fading as the travelers find themselves splintered and flung far across the realms. Is the fate of all involved already sealed?
