Movie Reviews of Radio FlyerMovie Review: Great Movie Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this movie as a child, and I think it is a GREAT movie, and it does show the signs and effects of child abuse and I think its a great way to help inform people of how child abuse IS real and that it DOES affect our population. As far as the few people who don't really understand the movie and think the younger brother is just a metaphor, they need to watch the movie again and notice how the mother talks to not just Mikey, but also talks to Bobby, and at the end, when he is gone, his mothers asks Mikey, "Where is Bobby, Where is Your Brother?!" and this statement clearly specifies that Bobby is NOT a metaphor created by Mikey to hide the abused side of him, Bobby is a real person and Mikey's little brother. I recommend this movie to Anyone who wants to see a good movie about True Brotherly Love and just how even the worst situations can bring two people even closer to each other, even though it may be pushing them apart in a different way.
Movie Review: Beautiful story and there really are 2 boys Summary: 5 Stars
This is a beautifully crafted movie with a controversial ending. A lot of people are annoyed by the ending (which I won't reveal here), viewing it as inappropriate for this thype of movie. Others believe that instead of there being 2 brothers there is only really one boy with an imaginary brother taking all the abuse. And this explains the strange ending.
However, as I recall after many years, in the original story the boy dies in the last episode that we see him in. But this was thought to be too extreme for a Hollywood movie. (It's against the unwritten rules of Hollywood to kill a child) So once the story had gotten to that last scene there has to be a what happened next scene.
Movie Review: Radio Flyer Summary: 5 Stars
A father reminisces about his childhood when he and his younger brother moved to a new town with their mother, her new husband and their dog, Shane. When the younger brother is subjected to physical abuse at the hands of their brutal stepfather, Mike decides to convert their toy trolley, the "Radio Flyer", into a plane to fly him to safety. This movie is emotionally gripping and, at points, almost too realistic to watch comfortably. It captures the joy of boyhood and although I wouldn't know from personal experience, seems to capture the terror of abuse just as accurately. A very powerful, and rewarding moive. You truly take this journey through the eyes and soul of a child.
Movie Review: Authentic Summary: 5 Stars
Very well done. Take it form one who has been abused. The children, their responses, and the perpetrator were very well played. My own abuse came to the forefront watching this movie. I also had dreams of flight. Wanting to fly away from the pain, away from the abuser.
Someone did their research. This is a brutally honest movie about the pains of abuse and the emotional scarring that takes place. One will go to almost any extremes to avoid the pain. We all want to fly away from life crisis. As a child we do it any way we can. Five stars for Radio Flyer.

Movie Review: good but sad Summary: 5 Stars
does anyone know if there is a book based on this movie?? I'd like to know. However, the movie is kind of sad and makes you cry. The younger boy is so brave and it makes ya kind of wonder where he ended up going, and if there should be a sequel to the movie?? Well, I gave it 5 stars but I agree with the other opinions of the reviewers that I wouldn't let children (young) watch thismovie because there is violence in it. I enjoyed it, though.
