Movie Reviews of Radio DaysMovie Review: The Good Old Days Summary: 5 Stars
After seeing the movie Radio Days over Netflix, we decided that it was one movie that we had to own. We don't usually buy movies because we rarely watch them twice. We watched this one twice and then ordered it. For anyone who was around in 1944 this is a must have movie. All the old songs, bands, clothes, hair-dos and especially the old radio shows that we used to listen to. Woody Allen is a genius. He isn't in this movie, he is played by a nine year old boy, Wonderful to watch on New Year's Eve.
Movie Review: Funny Movie Summary: 5 Stars
Even though this movie has been around for awhile, I caught part of it on TV (complete with commercials) and thought it was so funny, I had to get my own copy. Its got a great cast and portrays the early days of radio in a comical way. Mia Farrow was just awesome, the way she screamed, and how she went from her 'dumb blonde' accent to her stuffy nose-in-the-air enunciation of words. Recommmended for general audience.
Movie Review: hits you right in the memories Summary: 5 Stars
Woody Allen writes and directs most of my life. I have always been a fan since "Sleeper" made me wet my pants laughing in the Alabama theater in Birmingham, on a first date with a boy I never saw again! But, if you are a baby boomer, as I am, this movie will hit some place in your mind that you remember happening in your life. It is wonderful. I watch it whenever I get homesick for my childhood.
Movie Review: A Beautiful Ode To A Lost Era Summary: 5 Stars
Woody Allen accomplished something very special with this film, memorializing the 40's through the use of old radio shows and hit songs of the era. The movie is sweetly sentimental and captures a time and place perfectly. The acting is uniformly wonderful and the period costuming and cinematography will make you believe you've been transported back in time.
A unique and truly great film.
Movie Review: heart warming woody Summary: 5 Stars
if not one of his best films, this is certianly one of woody allen's warmest. In this film we finally get to see the warm vuldernrable, and sensitive Allen that is hinted to and alluded to in all of his other films. It shows where Allen came from and where he got his sense of bizarre and dry humor.
