Movie Review: Classic western (about as far west as one can get!)
Summary: 5 Stars
I've watched this movie at least 15 times since it was made in 1990; it's one of my two favorite westerns (the other, Silverado, 1985), and when Amazon advertized it for $10.99, I had to buy it. It's a great depiction of 1870's life in a different country. Tom Selleck is great as Matthew Quigley, and Alan Rickman (Die Hard) is one of my favorite bad guys. This is not your usual cowboy movie but Tom Selleck makes a great sharp shooter. Alan Rickman does a great job as the despicable land owner. Laura San Giacomo was well cast and her role was memorable.
The true message of this film was to not judge people by the color of their skin or their situation.
This film had comedy and drama. I liked the movie when it came out and was delighted that it was on DVD.

This is one movie I will watch more than once [4 times already] One of my all time favorites. -- Tom Selleck fans will really like this one and if you follow Alan Rickman - he is great also. [Sense and Sensibility + Die Hard]
Rickman makes an excellent bad guy.
I sure get a kick out of the way the Aussie's ride their horses.
Love the look of the country. We need to make more movies over there.

"Quigley Down Under"; is a film I bought about five years ago and I still love it. The actors are all great in their performances and the camera shots are beautiful. Tom Selleck and Laura San Giacomo screen play together wonderfully. This film is a hidden gem for all family members. It is a lengthy movie so pop your corn and enjoy a western set in Australia.Movie Review: I never thought this movie could be a Western was I Wrong this is a Western in a Far off Land.

Man I love it when the bad guys get it in the end, and they do in this movie. Tom Selleck plays a Great Hero in this movie.If you can handle some Brutal seens ,Blood and Shot'em up swearing, but in the content of this movie its done to bring its point across and does that.Hey Who Watchs Westerns in Todays World? I-still-do.Dont forget Open Range too!
