EXCELLANT WESTERN SENT IN THE BEAUTIFULL COUNTRY OF AUSTRAILIA.I RECENTLY SOLD MY VHS COPY ,AS I AM SWITCHING TO ALL DVD.SELLECK PLAYS A SHARP SHOOTER HIRED BY A RANCHER TO KILL OF THE NATIVES .THE ABARIGONES,ONLY TO FIND HIMSELF APPAULED BY THE RANCHER'S WANTS.INSTEAD OF KILLING THE NATIVES,HE STARTS TAKING OUT THE RANCHERS MEN AND HOOKS UP WITH A SMALL MINDED WOMAN ON THIS GREAT ADVENTURE.ONE TO SEE.GREAT SCENERY.AND I AM DELIGHTED TO SEE IT OUT ON DVD FINALLY.Movie Review: A western Classic

I think this is by far one of the best Western Classics or our time.... and it's not even located in the US. Location Australia, and quigley is sucked into a chain of events that forces him to use his wit and sharp shooting abilities to help out a woman and her child. If it sounds boring, it's not. It is one of the best acted movies of the time, and best directed as well. There is no way I could rate this movie below a 5 and not feel guilty about it.Movie Review: Tom Selleck Movie

This is one of my favorite movies. Tom Selleck plays Matthew Quigley as the quintessential American cowboy who takes a sharpshooter's job down under in Australia for a land baron (Alan Rickman). Not only does he fight the bad guys but he shows his compassionate side as well when he falls for Crazy Cora. Alan Rickman is a very good bad guy! A thoroughly entertaining movie with great scenery - they don't make 'em like this anymore!Movie Review: Tom Selleck makes an excellent western hero

I own this film and thoroughly enjoy it. For under 15 dollars it is a must have for any DVD collection. The film was beautifully made by Simon Wincer who directed it and Lonesome Dove. This is a great western with Tom Selleck as it's hero. The story is action-packed, heart wrenching, full of adventure, love, hate, suspense, drama and so on. For the merits of the film as well as the price, I would highly recommend it.Movie Review: Quigley Down Under

As the title indicates the story tales place in Australia probably in the late 1800s.Selleck is hired by the owner of a big ranch and when he gets there he finds that his duties are to do in the aboriginies in the area.Well, Selleck does'nt think much of that so Tom sides with the aboriginies against the rancher.
Good things happen and there is a lot of feel good humor involved also.
Get it,you'll like it.
