Movie Reviews of Quigley Down UnderMovie Review: Watch it again and again Summary: 5 Stars
Tom Selleck is the perfect cowboy, looking for the last remnants of the west in a country that is more wild and lawless than he ever imagined. His portrayal of Quigley is stunning, a true man's man with a sharp shooter's eye, that has to determine the moral fiber behind the situation he's in. Laura San Giacomo--fabulous! Is she just pretending, or is she really what she portrays herself to be to everyone in the outback.
Great acting, beautiful scenery, wonderful tale and Alan Rickman is at his best bad guy ever.
Movie Review: Quigley Down Under Summary: 5 Stars
A friend of mine loaned me this dvd. I was so taken with Tom Selleck and the direction of Simon Wincer I bought the dvd and Crossfire Trail and Monte Walsh also starring Tom Selleck and directed by Simon Wincer.
This is another one of those "all man and a yard wide", spectacular countryside. Set in a time when your word was your bond. Life was simple and uncomplicated. They do not appear to resort to gunplay unless and until there is no other option. Well worth the price of the dvd to watch over and over again.
Movie Review: Two of My Favorite Stars Summary: 5 Stars
Classic Western in a new setting. The stoic cowboy and the damsel in distress Down Under. It is always a good evening when watching the interactions of the cowboy and the 'crazy lady'.
From the beginning when he rescues her and she 'latches onto him' as her protector, right to the end when she.... Well... that would be telling.
It has all the right mixtures, The Good Guy, The Surprisingly Tough Damsel, and The Overstated Evil Cattle Baron, all in the wilds of old Australia. Good Stuff!
Movie Review: one of the best Summary: 5 Stars
this is a great movie and in the days of big budget action movies that are all copy cats this is a nice change of pace. Selleck was perfect for the role and i think should get an award for his acting. if you like westerns even a little then tune into this one, or if you don't then maybe this will make a fan of them. The extras on the disk are a making of feature and one trailer from the cinema and two for TV, but for the price it;s just right. Also you buy the dvd for the movie not the extras.
Movie Review: Quigley is a fun adventure with some weak parts Summary: 5 Stars
"Quigley Down Under" is an entertaining movie with some great parts and a great score. The cast is excellent with Tom Selleck as our hero sharpshooter Quigley and Alan Rickman as the villain. The story takes us to Australia when Quigley takes a job from a man involving his sharpshooting. The job isn't great, and Quigley quickly finds himself in a tough spot. The story is a little slow in the middle, but the climax is as exciting as any other. You'll just have to see it yourself...
